He wasn't completely crazy, just mostly!
This is commonly held to be one of his statements. I believe he essentially believed that cats could be soothing companions. I happen to agree...

Junior cramming himself into an Amazon box this morning.
He never actually said that. In fact, he didn't like cats (the weirdo) and was actually a dog person. But that misattributed quote is splashed across all kinds of merchandise. Go figure. Someone knew how to market refrigerator magnets and cat calendars.
It's never a good sign when any living thing that has an expressive face, makes that face on the right. Something bad is about to happen to you, or something bad just happened to whoever is making the face.
However, it's true that Albert Schweitzer said: "There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life -- music and cats."
