Favorite Science-Fiction Show?

That reminds me, I would definitely add Snowpiercer and The Expanse to my list.

Over the years I've loved (in no particular order):
Star Trek (primarily TOS, TNG and DS9, but really just Star Trek in general)
Star Wars (Droids, Ewoks, Clone Wars, other Clone Wars, Rebels, Resistance, Mandalorian)
Stargate (SG1, Atlantis, Universe...still trying to find the rest of Infinity online, didn't hate Origins like many seem to have)
Doctor Who (including - to varying degrees - Sarah Jane Adventures, Torchwood, Class, K-9, K-9 & Company, Doctor Who Confidential, etc.)
BBC Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
recent Dirk Gently series
Twilight Zone (mostly original, first season of the latest one was...fine, haven't seen the 2nd season yet or the reboots in between the first and latest series)
Outer Limits (new & old)
Dark Skies
Space: Above and Beyond
Knight Rider
Voyagers
Quantum Leap
Red Dwarf
The Orville
The Expanse
Killjoys
Dark Matter
Firefly
Farscape
Fringe
Freakylinks
X-Files (including Lone Gunmen and Strange Luck, haven't finished Harsh Realm and Millennium yet)
Earie, Indiana
Tron cartoon
Space Force
Battlestar Galactica (new & old, though I've only seen the first season and a half or so of the new)
Babylon 5 (including Crusade)
Brain Dead
Black Mirror
Utopia
The Aliens
Sapphire and Steel
Rick & Morty
Futurama
3rd Rock from the Sun
Eureka/Warehouse 13 (haven't seen Alphas yet)
SeaQuest DSV
Earth: Final Conflict (season one only) (thanks od0_ital)
Sliders (season one only)
Andromeda (minus the last season or so)
Red vs. Blue
Thunderbirds
Dark Crystal
Gen:Lock
Stranger Things
Buck Rogers in the 25th Century
The Pretender
Forever
Orphan Black
Defiance
Walking Dead shows
Solar Opposites

Plus others I'm sure I'm forgetting (don't be surprised if I edit this to add more).
Plus enough Saturday morning cartoons for their own post.
Plus enough super hero/comic book shows for their own post (if not thread).

I'm excluding current-run series (i.e. Doctor Who, The Expanse, Star Trek Discovery, Westworld, etc.) and stuff that never had a proper resolution (Caprica, Firefly, Stargate Atlantis, etc.) from this list, so here we go (alphabetically):
12 Monkeys
Babylon 5
Battlestar Galactica
Defiance
Fringe
Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda
Orphan Black
Star Trek Deep Space Nine
Star Trek Voyager
Under the Dome

Honorable Mentions go to Felicity (for the sake of nostalgia) and Haven (since I don't know for sure if it's actually Sci-Fi or not).

12 Monkeys
Battlestar Galactica
Fringe
Future Man
The Orville
The Outer Limits
Rick and Morty
Solar Opposites
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Westworld

Star Trek: Enterprise
The 80's Twilight Zone
Otherworld
The original Battlestar Galactica
Buck Rogers in the 25th Century
Charlie Jade

Top 10 (many of these are franchises) :

Star Trek (and in particular DS9)
Doctor Who
Battlestar Galactica (and in particular the Ron Moore version)
Marvel TV/streaming shows.
The Mandalorian (the only SW TV show I like so far)
The Expanse
Babylon 5
Stargate
The X Files
The Hitchikers Guide (OK on TV, brilliant on the radio)

Honourable mention to Red Dwarf, which actually isn't very good, but I kind of like it.

Westworld could have made it to the list at one point, but I've not seen season three, and recently realised that I just can't be bothered to watch it.

My top 5 in order:

1. Farscape
2. Star Trek: The Next Generation
3. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
4. Babylon 5
5. The Expanse

Honorable Mentions

Orphan Black
Buffy The Vampire Slayer (this is more fantasy though)
Angel (same as Buffy)
Stargate SG1 and Atlantis

and of course this is another dead thread that got resurrected. Are people here afraid to start new threads for some reason? Consider this an updated list.

And nobody has mentioned Star Cops (which is understandable, dvd out of print and it's not been shown anywhere in the last 30 years)

For me the top would be Babylon 5 - i can't remember a show that was so well planned with a single overarching story across multple seasons that gripped me so well.

The actual execution/production however ran into a few "snags" - one of the main actors had to leave after the first season or personal reasons, the main story had to be condensed after the studio wouldn't commit to the full 5 seasons for which the main story was designed, thus had to be compressed into the 4th season to at least finish the main plot before at the last minute the studio greenlit the 5th season and now they had to scramble to write new material to fill the season etc., most of you know this.

Star Trek comes close in its entirety and premise - a hopeful future where mankind has left behind its current problems and went to the stars as one united race. DS9 is the best show amongst the many for me both in character development, themes and storylines closely followed by TNG for the power of some of the episodes and the acting talent in that show.

Fan favorites like Firefly, BSG ( though mostly a stellar first season and then lost quality and steam until the end), the Stargate shows ( both for scope and sometimes the campiness of it but also i loved the humor in it) are also on my list.
