Have you asked Benjy Mouse? He'd know.Is our Earth the original?

Does that mean that 615 other Earths have dibs on being the original ahead of ours?"Our" Earth in Marvel Comics is Earth 616.
"Our" Earth in Marvel Comics is Earth 616.
we are, actuallyWe may be the original Earth or maybe even the last Earth. One thing is certain though, we are not the Middle-earth.![]()
Oh I know, just couldn't pass on the pun.we are, actually(edit: sorta)
one idea of Tolkien was that we were the same earth, albeit in the 6th age. Although probably 7th age by now, as Tolkien believed the ages were changing again some time after WW2.
I thought in Marvel comics continuity, our Earth was on the exact opposite side of the Sun from the Earth that contains all the Marvel heroes; and was overseen/protected by the High Evolutionary, which is why there are no mutants with superpowers or other types of superpowered heroes on this planet. No, 1218. 616 is mainstream Marvel comics continuity.
It appears that that is correct. No, 1218. 616 is mainstream Marvel comics continuity.

When a tunneling project like the rail and road tunnels under the Alps finds Khazad-Dum or any of the other Dwarvish realms, call me.Tolkien may have been on to something there!
Why is our Earth the 616th, but our reality the 1218th?No, 1218. 616 is mainstream Marvel comics continuity.
Well now, someone having unearthed Saurons' rings would certainly go a long ways towards explaining the effed-up politics in the world the last 20 or so years, now wouldn't it?![]()
Actually I haven't seen that to be the case. The "parallel Earths" that our heroes encounter are monocultures that resemble one time period and place in Earth's history, with indications that the entire planet is like that. Our Earth is not a monoculture. But if every Earth must be a "copy" of an older one, then perhaps there were multiple extraterrestrial influences on Earth over the centuries.
