Help with my thesis about Star Trek

All of that is just judgement on your part, and not even relevant to what the OP asked for. It’s like saying that the OP asked for help to figure out what model of new car he should buy, and someone responding that he should buy a plane instead because it’s more ‘off the wall.’ It’s a pointless and irrelevant answer to the question.

No, I didn’t. If the admin insists on the thread staying focused on the original request, fine, I let it be yesterday already, but it obviously doesn’t mean allowing other people to continue to riff on the same tangent. That’s just taking a beating for daring to point out that a thesis should be as much of a novel experience as possible.

Why not? It’s just an opinion on the topic that could just as easily be made by a thesis advisor. If you’re going to spend that much time on a complex piece of writing, best to keep it as interesting and unusual as possible.

JUST STOP.

Everyone, please just move on.

Hi again, so some users have notified me that I can be dm'ed, I just can not initiate a dm, so please dm me to receive further instructions and the link to my survey! Thank you all for being so wonderful -except the pessimist- and volunteering to help me out. For some reason, everyone I know irl has not seen Star Trek/ is not into sci-fi so I really needed some diversity of opinion.
Thanks again!

Hiya, let me know if you'd like to be sent the survey, I'd like to be done with this by March 1, I'm still accepting volunteers as long as you're willing to do it by the 1st of March.
Thanks

I just DM'ed you. I'm in, as long as the survey isn't really long!

Perhaps you could share some of your findings with us later on?

I'm hip. Send me a message. :)

I'll participate, provided I don't have to surrender any personal info beyond what is available here.

I am interested in participating.

I'm in, too! Send me a PM.

I've just learned how to quote and I wanted to tell these users that if they are still willing to take my survey y'all can dm me for the link as I can not dm people but I can be dmed. If you would no longer like to participate that's fine as well no worries, I just didn't know maybe if y'all didn't get my update about not being able to dm anyone.

Yes my thesis should be finished in May, I can post results here then if yall'd like.
And the survey isn't long, but does require you to watch 3 episodes of Star Trek which as we all know is a fair bit of time.

Looking forward to the survey as well as the episodes we are to re-witness. :) :like:

Might I also suggest, in addition to your survey participants, you give a listen to "Mission Log Podcast." This podcast is reviewing every Star Trek episode and movie. They are currently up to DS9's "Behind the Lines." All of the episodes you want us to review have already been discussed on this podcast.

"Mission Log Podcast" is produced by Rod Roddenberry, son of Star Trek's creator, Gene Roddenberry. From their About section:
Starting with The Original Series’ initial pilot and continuing chronologically until we reach the last episode of Star Trek: Enterprise, each week our hosts will tackle a single episode, delving into the most historical and hysterical science fiction that Star Trek has to offer. Along with a variety of guests and interviews, Mission Log will attempt to reach Star Trek’s ethical subtext, understand its complex metaphors and finally figure out what was the trouble with those tribbles.

I'm actually looking into that podcast, but it's been difficult because sometimes I can't understand spoken word without captions. I was unaware of the actual website though, I'll peruse the website and see if there are any transcripts, thanks

So since I'm looking to close the survey on March 1st if you haven't dm'ed me -since I can't dm anyone- then this week will be the last week to do so. I probably won't post on this thread again until I do the summary -- as previously mentioned-- in May or so.

Looking forward to the survey as well as the episodes we are to re-witness. :) :like:
Thanks for all y'alls support, I look forward to being apart of this forum once the probationary period ends for me:)

Oh and a reminder to fill in your username instead of your real name just so I can keep track of who has and has not done it yet
