News Superman & Lois Ordered to Series at The CW

A great new shot posted by Bitsie (as always, click to supersize):

Her comments: "A shot from when Lois and Clark first meet at the #DailyPlanet."
and
"To everyone who answered when I asked what wardrobe you wanted to see #LoisLane in, this is for you."

Oooo, flashback!
It's a beautiful twofer character shot, but looking at it again, I do wonder about the view outside the windows. Wouldn't one expect the Daily Planet to be in a dense urban business center, not a location with houses/apartments just across the street?

Probably going to replace it in post.

You know John Campea talked the other day about how he thinks the Arrowverse is about to be ending soon and the shows creators will switch their efforts to HBOMAX and you know I think I kind of believe it. The thing is that when I watched the teaser I kind of get the feeling this show was created with the idea in mind it will soon in maybe 2 or 3 years transition to HBOMAX and it's why it doesn't look like a CW Arrowverse show. Anyone think this is possible? I think this show and Stargirl will be the only two that switches over.

I hope Clark gets to make some graceful take-offs and landings too. The explosive versions have become a bit overplayed in my opinion. Save them for dramatic moments. (And I'm not saying that one above isn't.)

We've seen Kara make some regular take offs and landings, haven't we?
Was there ever any reason to think it would be?
Sometimes things that seem like they should be a sure bet, still don't work out.

I can't see them doing that. WB isn't going to want to put all of the eggs in one basket, so I can't see them not having at least one or two DC show on The CW. Even if they phase out the Arrowverse, they'll probably just have one or two standalone DC shows on in it's place.
That was part of the reason Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D kept getting renewed, Disney wanted to have at least one Marvel show on ABC. I know we don't have anything on there right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get something in the next season or two.

Interesting how perspectives shift. My father disliked Christopher Reeve's gentle takeoffs, feeling that they looked like an actor being hoisted by wires rather than a powerful being launching himself skyward against gravity. He was more familiar with George Reeves's springboard-assisted run-and-jump takeoffs, which he felt looked more powerful.

And he had a point, since in the original comics and animated shorts, Superman didn't actually fly so much as leap incredibly high. Even once he did start actually flying, it was reasonable to expect that, whatever propulsion method he used, he'd need power and speed to gain altitude, like a plane taking off. So the Reeve movies' use of wirework with Superman just slowly levitating into the air like Peter Pan on stage was kind of revisionist. We're used to it today, but I understand why my father found it off-putting.

(According to a documentary I remember seeing, the use of wirework required such gentle takeoffs, since if Reeve had jumped, it would've put slack in the wires and ruined the effect. I think it was while we were watching that documentary that my father raised his complaint.)

I would not be surprised, since two of the shows are ending this season, and the Arrowverse's series suffer from incredibly low ratings. That is not sustainable.

There's nothing particularly unique in those teasers that says its an HBOMAX show in the making. On visuals alone, it does not look like a movie, or even the now gone Marvel Netflix series.

Have we seen any visuals within the Kent home? I am still hoping the house sort of looks like it did in Smallville.
