Voyager Cameo? Voyager on Discovery Show?

Okay. So they can just decide whenever to change the truth (because this isn’t fact and can easily be changed on a dime), but there’s still no room for debate among fans who debate pretty much everything about the entire franchise?

I’d be more inclined to agree if this was the work of one writer, but what I’m saying is that it’s kinda sad to shut down any debate because CBS says so. If nothing else, it’s fun to debate this stuff.

Ultimately fun is in the eye of the beholder. I personally would rather work within the limits and fit the different elements together because that is the original intent of the authors of the work. Certainly I have a seen a lot variation on the different continuities, including TOS as one, TMP as another, TNG another, ENT another, etc. And that's totally fine if that is the debate. But, if we are going to discuss DSC as it relates to other works then part of that is going to be informed by authorial intent.

there's plenty of other stuff you can debate in the franchise, I keep saying this.

They've literally played clips of "The Cage" and "Unification II" in Discovery so no doubt they're meant to be the same world. Even if they have kinda rebooted the 23rd century part, where the designs for ships, sets and costumes are all new, Yeoman Colt is spiky alien and Le'matya is a multi-legged hell monster instead of a big cat. It's really messy but their intent is clear.

NOW CAN WE GET BACK TO VOYAGER-J?

This has drifted, as we do often do, into the Prime Timeline argument and the original question about Voyager appearing had been answered.

Revivals of the Voyager show itself are better discussed in Future of Trek or the Voyager subforum.
