DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

It's possible that he's obligated to avoid specifics because of whatever non-disclosure agreement he signed in the settlement, and is just trying to maneuver around that to the extent that he can. I gather that NDAs like that are pretty common in business.
If that is the case, then it might have been all around more professional simply to have said nothing at all, besides the vague parting because of creative differences sort of BS.

The Peacemaker series for HBO Max has started filming.

Meanwhile, Ray Fisher released an audio clip via Twitter, apparently from his last conversation with the investigators in December 2020. The gist is the investigator telling Fisher how reliable and helpful he has been, so this is really about Fisher claiming credibility, there are no new details. I remain on the fence. I certainly believe Fisher is genuine, I just don't know if he's actually right.

Snyder cut will not be in miniseries format anymore. Snyder confirms the final edit will be one whole four hour movie

That's probably a good decision, especially if it's how he wants to present it.
The benefit of watching at home is you don't have to watch in one sitting if you choose not to anyways, so there shouldn't be an issue with this from a viewer. Especially if he doesn't want to force a (potentially awkward) break by splitting it into smaller chunks.

What's the exact problem people have with Whedon?
His ex-wife has accused him of having affairs with younger actresses while he was working as a producer, and now Ray Fisher, and at least Gal Gadot have said that they ran into problems with him while filming his take on Justice League.
Good.

Now all it needs is a physical home media release, and things will be golden.
If that happens, it probably won't be for at least a year after it's released on HBO Max. I think some of the streaming services have never released their original content on physical media, so there's a chance it will never happen.

Snyder's movies usually sell like hotcakes on home media, I doubt WB will pass up an opportunity to recoup at least some of the cost involved in this thing by eventually releasing it.

Ideally, we'd get a physical release that bundles both the Snyder Cut and the Whedon-directed to Theatrical cut (yes, I want to own both, but don't want separate editions of both on my shelf).

While BvS for example bundled the theatrical with the ultimate edition, and as I imagine anyone who wanted the theatrical edition of JL already has it, there wouldn't be much consideration on potential sales loses stopping them from bundling it this time as well. However, I kinda doubt that will happen considering the unique situation surrounding this thing. It'd be kinda weird to have a box that says Zack Snyder's Justice League and it containing a movie he still hasn't even seen.

If a potential physical release for the Snyder Cut only had that version of the film, I could buy a 2-disc Blu-ray case and make my own bundle.

Agreed. At worst, I'd expect a longer delay compared to theatrical releases, to give HBO Max an extended exclusivity window, but I have very little doubt it will hit Blu-ray eventually.

Good thing, too, since that's the only way I'll see it, and I'm actually looking forward to the hate-watch. ;)

Not really. There are a lot of actors who don't watch their own movies or shows, because they don't like to watch themselves or because they prefer their recreational viewing to be separate from their work. And I'm sure there are plenty of cases where the director of the first movie in a series never saw the sequels from other directors, but the movies still got bundled together in a box set.

After all, the only thing that matters to the people selling a box set is what the customers want to see, not what the filmmakers want to see.

I wasn't implying it wouldn't be in there just because Snyder didn't watch it. I was pointing out that this version is literally called Zack Snyder's Justice League so I'm not sure it would make sense for it to contain something which is... not that.

Wouldn't be the first time something like that has been done. For instance, there's a box set that's titled as a deluxe edition of The Creature from the Black Lagoon, but that actually includes all three films in the series, with the two sequels being counted as bonus features. I found it weird that they didn't just bill it as a box set of the full trilogy, but they didn't.

That's the thing about bonus content. It's stuff beyond what's in the title. That's kind of the point.

Oh... those kind of problems. Well hey it's Hollywood.
