Spoilers A television series set in the 31st century pre and post the burn.

So after watching the first half of Discovery Season 3 again, I really want to see a television series set during the 31st century cause there is so much stuff happening during this time. The Federation working on different methods for their dilithium problem. The Romulo-Vulcans working on SB-19 and learning to live together. And It would just be interesting to see the Federation at its most vulnerable. you could also so the various member worlds starting to leave. Hell they could even name it Star Trek: Federation if they wanted to.

What's everyone's thoughts on this? would you guys be up for it? if so what decade of the 31st century would you want it to begin and end?

I think stuff like Romulans and Vulcans merging societies would make a better novel (paging Diane Duane) than TV series plot. As for the Burnpocalypse... I'd rather watch the rebuilding for now. Maybe down the line, when we know how the Burn happened we can decide if it's worthy of a prequel.

Yeah, all that stuff sounds more suitable to a novel rather than a TV series premise. I mean what is there to fuel a TV show? It's basically just showing stuff which we're already hearing about on the current season of Disco and therefore already know how it'll all turn out. There are much better ways to spend a TV series rather than just playing "connect the dots."

Have reference to the Burn outside the Disco forum really been getting that out of hand? Even in the Disco forum I didn't think Burn references were that bad.

As someone who isn't currently watching Season 3 and is just seeing references to the season pop up outside the show's forum...it's definitely become a buzzword, in that annoyingly trendy way.

Im not sure a whole series would work but they could have a Short Trek episode literally spanning the day of the Burn. Have a starship in spacedock for repairs, with its warp drive deactivated, and then suddenly `bang`, the Galaxy changes. Distress calls start flooding in, chaos ensues.

I honestly don't care about events post-'Picard'. They haven't showed me anything or anyone that I care about yet. It could change, but I doubt it will.

I'd love to see a Star Trek series set after the burn. With special and digital effects being what they are now compared to the 80s and 90s, it would naturally have the feeling of being set in the future of the older serieses. There's all kinds of wacky new species already suggested by the old material, for example human-like AI in multiple forms.

The only thing I absolutely wouldn't want to see is a ship full of people whose last names I already know.
