Read an interesting theory about the Kelpiens, which is very likely true imho. https://www.reddit.com/r/DaystromInstitute/comments/kpwkqp/this_isnt_even_sarus_final_form?sort=new
Two reasons: 1. Most peoples’ internet pet theories about things are usually wrong, and 2. The monster was just a plot device to make Su’kal afraid, nothing more.
...Would have been more fun if the monster were the real Su'Kal. But apparently not. The Kelpien are a fun species. Or were, before losing their defining trait. But with so much time travel and parallel shows and whatnot going on, nothing is lost yet in that respect! Timo Saloniemi
Better question is why are we just getting links posted instead of what people actually think of the link? I don't make it a habit to click random links just because.
It's just a boogieman for Su'Kal and since he's Kelpian, it's based on a Kelpian. Like how human mythical monsters generally look human in some way.
I once had a theory that the Ba'ul are actually evolved Kelpiens, but that doesn't really make sense anymore. Or does it?
I thought perhaps the monster was a interbreeding experiment between Kelpians and Ba’ul gone wrong lol.
I was speculating this also during that episode. They kept saying that they were detecting one life sign, but they never specified who that one life sign was. My speculation at the time I was watching the episode was that the monster was Su'Kal (perhaps mutated due to the radiation) and the Su'Kal we saw was a hologram.
I really wouldn't toss in the Daystrom Institute and its tightly regulated atmosphere and discussion topics with the rest of Reddit.
