What did you read in 2020?

Stephen!

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Quite a few this year, compared to last year.

"Hearts and Minds" (TNG)
"Available Light" (TNG)
"Collateral Damage" (TNG)
"Master and Apprentice" (Star Wars)
"The Missing" (DS9)
"Brinkmanship" (Typhon Pact)
"The Crimson Shadow" (The Fall)

New year end, new thread created :)

Have at it, all those of you who keep track of this sort of thing!

And Merry Christmas, happy end of 2020 to you all - may your 2021 be filled with vaccines and joy

And XenForo is so helpful and yet if falls at the last hurdle of not letting me specify I wanted Stephen's thread beneath mine... oh well...

The major ones I can remember off the top of my head:
The Fifth Season

Doctor No
Goldfinger

The Drawing of the Three
Firestarter
Star Trek: Deep Domain, Strangers From the Sky, The Romulan Way

Tales of the City of the Saved
Doctor Who: Evil of the Daleks, Fury From the Deep, The Wheel in Space, The Space Pirates. Also the first four stories of the first Hartnell Annual, pretty lengthy stories.

Also a couple stories from a massive concept anthology called We All Hear Stories in the Dark.

I read Rogue Saucer, those 2 Kelvin Universe novels and I'm halfway through Troublesome Minds right now.

It's been a very busy year.

I finally finished The Long Mirage, which I think I started back in 2019 when the German version came out. That very much slowed down my post-Nemesis reading.

In current Trek, I read The Last, Best Hope and The Way to the Stars (which I am currently re-reading), both amazing novels by Una McCormack, and Desperate Measures by Dayton Ward, which did a very good job with the premise.

I also read two Doctor Who novels, The Eight Doctors, which felt somewhat strange and ever so slightly out of character, and Prisoner of the Daleks, which worked much better.

Star Trek TNG Balance Of Power by Dafydd ab Hugh

I started the year doing a lot of reading, but it tailed off a bit in the last few months, so overall i read less than any recent year.
I've always enjoyed Bernard Cornwells books, so i started reading some other historical fiction authors ( Ben Kane and Conn Iggulden). I made a start on The Expanse (late to the party on that one). A good end, but sad to read the final book of The Last Kingdom series, one of my favourites.
I only read one Trek book this year, the Picard novel Last Best Hope, which I enjoyed more than the actual series.

I have read 96 books so far this year; I may squeeze in a 97th if I can get through the rest of Nicholas Nickleby in the next week. Low year for me (my annual average is in the 150s).

Of those, 12 were Star Trek books:
  1. Discovery: Dead Endless by Dave Galanter
  2. Picard: The Last Best Hope by Una McCormack
  3. The Next Generation: Cold Equations, Book III: The Body Electric by David Mack
  4. Department of Temporal Investigations: Time Lock by Christopher L. Bennett

  10. The Fall: A Ceremony of Losses by David Mack
  11. The Fall: The Poisoned Chalice by James Swallow
  12. The Fall: Peaceable Kingdoms by Dayton Ward
As you can see, other than keeping up with CBSAA tie-ins (though I skipped Die Standing), I have been working on catching up with Destiny-era fiction.

If you want to know what other books I've read, I blog about it every month!

For Star Trek this year, I read the entire Vanguard and Seekers franchise (a reread), No Time Like the Past (reread), The Higher Frontier, Agents of Influence, Die Standing, To Lose the Earth, and A Contest of Principles...oh, and the Kirk Fu Manual. There was likely a few more I skimmed but didn't actually read or reread all the way through like Desperate Measures but for the most part that was it.

Well, obviously all the ST novels published this year. And I re-read Assignment: Eternity (and a few others).

And I read Don Quixote, in the relatively new Edith Grossman translation.
