We will never learn about the Burn. That’s the theme of the whole season. It’s kinda something that happened, but no one is in any major hurry to solve it.

Burnham is. And because the whole show revolves around her, she will end up finding the cause of it. And by doing so, the entire Federation will bow down and kiss her feet because she’s just so awesome.

You’re probably right :barf:

Well, you can make some of the people happy some of the time, but you can’t make all of the people happy all of the time.
Star Trek has rarely catered to my preferences. I guess I'll take the small victories where I can get them.

Because I don't watch shows to be catered to. I watch them to be entertained.

I can only speak for myself, but: Most of the series have catered to my preferences, it's just a matter of degree. The only two that haven't are LD (which I still like anyway) and ENT (which I've found things to like about it).

Disco is just a pretty damned high degree, comparatively. ;)

Bold prediction: Su’kal is the name of a new to Star Trek alien race that caused the burn and will become the main villains for the rest of season 3, and the entirety of season 4.

A fourth season is already in pre-production, right? I wouldn't mind if they didn't wrap everything up in the next 3 episodes.

A 2 season arc would be like having 1 almost normal season-long arc.

In my mind tying up a season arc neatly and moving onto something different is actually just as artificial as the older pattern of tying up an episode neatly and moving onto something different.

Ideally serialized shows should have long-form story arcs across their entirety. Or at minimum, long-form character arcs.
