To me this was beautiful.

Star Trek, to me, was never about ship-porn but great stories and good characters. And as much as I adore Discovery, season 1's spacescene left a lot to be desired for. This stuff shows that people at home can make amazing cgi. So it surprises me how often, tv and movies can feel lacking when it comes to that department.
Having said that, I also recognize that tv shows and movies are under time restrictions, while people at home can take all the time they want to perfect a shot.

Long story short..... That was simply stunning!!!

It was. I love some of those designs like that ship that looked like a Miranda with round things behind the saucer. That one looked amazing.

I don't like the Kelvin designs as much as the Prime 24th century ones, and the water on the camera effect was strange.
But the Klingon ships are nice!

Have to agree there but the amount of windows on them.... For a warship isn't a window a weak point?

Yes they do and I have never liked that. So many windows on a warship. Are they not a weakness?
The hull pretty much gets blasted apart if the shields are gone. So, no more a weakness than the hull.

That said, it is nice to see the Kelvin Universe get some love. The animation is very clean, the ship designs are fun and certainly a good expansion of what was presented in the films. Nice find!

I'm still trying to work out that ship that looks like a Miranda class with two round things behind the saucer

Yes indeed some of them are truly lovely. Can you marry a starship?

Gorgeous work. The lighting and subtle detail on the Klingon K'tinga-class are amazing.

"You'll find out that ship's captains are already married, girl, to their vessels! You'd find out the first time you came between him and the ship." -- Harry Mudd

I liked this, but I like Chasing the Infinite Sky more. So atmospheric.
