Wibbly-wobbly timey wimey type stuff. I didn't pay that much attentionActually, "TARDIS" is an acronym, something to do with temporal... something.
agreed, and this is something I like a lot about this arc: it shows, up to a point at least, that mirror universe people is just that, people, they’re not necessarily intrinsically evil but are evil because of the environment they live in.
Agreed and I think that it bears reminding that it can very much be part of the human experience. Stories are there to highlight those experiences.I agree...in fact, in a way, they are almost tragic / worthy of pity in that they really do live their entire lives in fear and rage, fueled on by the lies and trechery of the society they live within. I think, sadly, there are plenty of human experiences right here today that equate to that.
Maybe distance between timelines increases as the parallels break down? The disintegration of the Empire in the MU has no parallel in the Prime timeline.
The implication is that the distance starts increasing in "Mirror, Mirror" because Kirk's about to destroy the Empire. OK, the distance starts increasing before Kirk's actually done anything to that end, but Kirk gonna Kirk, whether he knows how yet or not.
Public urinals.

Smiley O'Brien shows that environment makes the person. A Terran, and one with anger issues and a dark side but prone to seeking freedom and liberation for his people and fighting on the side of those who want to choose their own lives and destinies.
That’s why he’s perhaps the greatest person in the history of the Federation.O'Brien is one the very rare people who manage to be good in both universes.
