I can joylessly nitpick something if I set my heart to it and this episode did not trigger my merciless pedant button. If I can get through it and not scream about canon and continuity then anyone can - unless they have an agenda to pursue and it's not about the content of the episode itself.

It's funny how for one single episode you get all reactions in this thread, from total disappointment to exuberant enthusiasm. Whatever you do you can't please everyone, definitely!

The Guardian itself looked almost exactly the way it did in TOS and TAS. The differences were minimal.
It didn't blink (cause it wasn't dark), and it had a vortex instead of a fog machine (because it was a dimension portal and a time portal, not just a time portal), and the surface wasn't smooth anymore (because it was damaged by age and all those fights over it) ;)

Yep. When you factor in hundreds of additional years of use and abuse by time travelers and temporal agents the fact it still looked about the same(and this is DSC ;) ) it's remarkable.

When Spock found it he dated it about ten thousand centuries, aka one million years, nine centuries wouldn't make much of a difference.

That's what I mean.

I wanna see a Short Trek about the GoF enduring countless attempts to use it for all kinds of bad stuff, until he decides to develop a humanoid avatar and more of a personality to talk and test and weigh people... or perhaps some real person got absorbed into it and now represents him as a humanoid... could be an interesting development after COTEF and origin story before TF at the same time!

But it probably developed that feature, and the ability to move, after COTEOF. That would be a good story for a new mini-show. GoF and T'Kon portals discuss how to deal with the temporal wars...

Probably because he does that for anyone who comes into his immediate vicinity... and Discovery with the Sphere Data (along with the past and current Federation database) extrapolated his coordinates.
Plus, Carl/GoF knows people very intimately who come to him (a combination of advanced sensors and temporal technology), so he probably chose to appear to Georgiou and M.B because he knew they weren't trying to use him to alter history like people during the Temporal Wars did... but Phillipa still needed to be tested.

Its the M.U., they do silly things.

Better effects than what they had back in the 60-ies.
Perhaps Carl developed a sense of humor and flair for the dramatic over the past 930 years?
Camouflage (most likely because others tried using him during the Temporal Wars and so he was intentionally ambiguous).

All of those are terrible answers

I gave it 8. It was good but not great. Loved the MU opening credits and the GoF donut part.

this definitely never happened: Khan’s exile was a court decision and his fate would be in the records.

About the other lies you quote, the characters had very clear reasons for lying, here I’m really wonder why Burnham implies Georgiu is dead when she knows she’s pretty much alive “sonewhen”.

What lies?

If Kahn Noonian Singh's actual fate were known to the Federation; you can be sure someone would have checked up on the colony in 15 years.

Yeah show me some proof it's a "lie" you pompous ass.

As for having no reason to lie? Give me a break. Michael Burnham and Saru were directly informed about the Temporal Accords;
And on the planet, the Guardian of Forever explained exactly why he went into 'hiding'.
^^^
Given all that Michael Burnham has a very logical reason to keep the truth to herself; much in the same way Sulu and other characters have.

this isn't the first time you've been wrong and it probably won't be the last. And if you feel it's getting personal, don't call me a liar here. That's way over the line.
