It's one theory, but so far has just been speculation. This episode suggests that the Roman Empire continued to exist.

Could just be that the Terrans decided to adopt some of the Roman traditions.

Sure, like a new Roman Empire long after the first

The Revelation will be that Carl is Carl. And Georgiou will somehow be able to continue living in Prime 3189 because she'll be cured.

And a personal Revelation to me is that I can't pull off having a goatee at all. But I'll still keep it for the Full Mirror Universe Duration.

My memory might be playing tricks on me but I think the ENT intro for its Mirror Universe episodes showed the Terran Empire starting a lot sooner.

I just assumed the MU was always separate from the Prime universe, they were just oddly linked by having similar events, people, and places. Like it split off at the Big Bang, but was always tied to the Prime one for reasons of plot convenience.

I like to think MU 2020 was a normal, prosperous, pandemic free year.

I think it was exactly like ours, mostly because we probably are the MU.

    Enterprise MU Opening
Based on everything there, nothing prevents Keeler from being the divergence .... if there was one.

They were reading a magazine. However, I think the two may be linked. On the Terra Firma, Part 1 episode page, I suggested that Carl/a GoF is possibly a pre-New Era Q or a product of them.

I have noticed a disturbing number of goatees being grown since the pandemic started...

I think their choice of images implies that the Terran Empire goes back to Ancient Times.

And now I know this is the Mirror Universe, because I'm allowing myself to sucked into an argument about ENT. There are some things even the Prime Lord Garth wouldn't do.

According to the MU News they did. No masks, no mandates, everyone get back to work. And at the end of the year(s), they had a lot less people to deal with. Win-win.

Didn't they also say that their classic literature is different, except Shakespeare? XD

No argument here. Been lurking around long enough to know there are some things to argue about and some aren't worth it. Also, you are far more astute than I.
