What is this? I saw it on Amazon. Is it a new novel?

There are actually four titles in the series.

I recall one guy who was quite prolific on the self-published Trek scene posting angrily on Facebook, "since CBS won't let me profit from Trek any more..." after they shut him down. How dare they!

^ Wild guess: Robert Jeschonek? I used to see his stuff everywhere when searching for Trek e-books.

Stephen Fender. His stuff was nuked not long after he associated with Alec Peters and his Four Years War novels were hyped on Axanar-related pages.

Robert Jeschonek has actually written licensed ST fiction. IIRC he was in three SNW volumes, wrote a SCE novella and had a story in the New Frontier anthology. But I know what you mean. He seems to rely heavily on the Trek connection with "Trek..." titles.

I remember someone on a fan fiction site claimed to have written a Enterprise fiction story as theirs and it was an entire Enterprise novel that was written By Andy Mangels and Micheal A. Martin I'm sure they got in trouble trying to steal other Star Trek writers work. It was a long time ago when that happened. I know they contacted S&s They removed it asap.

Not just titles: Trek You has a starship with a Russian navigator named Nabokov, a helmsman named Sanu, a Scottish engineer, a half-Hephaestan science officer named Sark...

Yeah, I knew about his SNW/SCE stuff; it's actually why I was surprised to see so much knock-off stuff from him. I figured he must've gotten some indication that future opportunities to write the real thing weren't forthcoming, and thus turned to the self-published approach. But it also looks like most of those have disappeared from the store.

And YMMV, but I feel like someone hewing so close to the edge of outright imitation - Hephaestan, for example - would distract/pull me out of the story far too often for it to be enjoyable. I'd constantly think about what the books weren't instead of seeing them for what they were. (This doesn't necessarily apply to satire/parody, but the books' descriptions didn't give me the sense that they were meant as such.)

Out of curiosity, is it possible I follow someone on this thread on Tumblr? It seems pretty suspicious that right after he was mentioned in this thread, I saw a post about Robert Jeschonek's "We Have Star Trek At Home / The Star Trek At Home" self-published novels.

I made the mistake of lookong this book up when this thread was first posted and now I keep getting kindle notifications asking if I'm still interested in it. Having read the description, I can confidently say that I am not, even if it is free through prime.
