Welcome to the 32nd century.

Burnham arrives. Check.

Discovery arrives. Check.

A trip to Earth. Check.

A Map to Starfleet's new headquarters. Check.

Evil Dick-ish Admiral in charge. Check.

Now on with the music.

We have our first clue about what caused the burn. But first, a scavenger hunt with Book. And what's up with Georgiou?

The MU getting further apart the reason related to why Georgiou was having a brain freeze? That her QUANTUM WHATEVER was being destabilized the longer she stays due to the distance, and is the reason why she has to go back?
A good theory if you ask me. Let's see if it pans out.

"After receiving a message from Book, Burnham and Georgiou embark on a rogue mission to find him, leaving Saru to pick up the pieces with Admiral Vance. Meanwhile, Stamets forms an unexpected bond with Adira." - TrekMovie.com

Looking forward to it. Happy to see that Georgiou is paired with Burnham. Michelle Yeoh steals every single scene she’s in.

I know it's late and maybe I'm imagining things, but is the editing in this episode kind of off? I mean Discovery was supposed to be sent on a mission without Burnham, but now Burnham is back on Discovery. They went from the shootout in the main office area to Burnham and Giorgou back on the ship? It feels like this episode could have been shorter, but not feel as rushed. Maybe I'm imagining things but I feel like this is one of the worst edited episodes of the series so far and it's a little weird.

Just finished it. I'm surprised Burnham hasn't said she is quitting Starfleet and joining Book on their mission to find the source of the Burn. There's your A and B Plots for the rest of the season. Burnham and Book and then Discovery and Starfleet.

Why is Burnham so obsessed with the Burn? She knows Discovery's spore drive can totally bypass it, and replicating it can restore the Fed without even dealing with the Burn. This has never been explained satisfactorily.

I'm glad Burnham has been kicked out of first officer position due to her recklessness. Who's new first officer? Nilsson?

The new badges work as tricorders. Couldn't Mirror Georgiou just scan herself to self diagnose?

Disco becomes the -A without getting destroyed or decommissioned
23rd century ships were in service when the burn happened and are now hanging in the sky
Self-sealing stem bolts! A 2370s Phaser!
Andorian antennae should regrow, but don't
Still hate the ship's weapon sound
Linus should keep appearing randomly for the rest of the show XD
Next week:
Unified Vulcans & Romulans!

My wild guess. This guy's Tuvok's great-great-great-great-great-grandson (although TBH he looks like a descendant of Will Smith) :guffaw::D;)

I liked seeing the vulnerability in Georgiou, and that Michelle Yeoh finally got to do some more subtle acting. Tilly’s scene with Grudge was fun. The Discovery upgrades were cool. And I enjoyed the confrontation between Saru and Burnham at the end.

That A plot, though, was a real chore. Oof.

Calypso doesn't really fit in the timeline anymore, since we don't see those consoles nor those nacelles.

So in the flashes, they used a few frames of Lorca plunging into the ISS Charon core. Probably means nothing.

What's the likely situation with the flashbacks?

Georgiou killed someone that she loved, yelling "San". The body looks female. I think we're supposed to think it's mirror Burnham, but I'm not sure if it fits with the season 1 portrayal where she was missing trying to find lorca.

God Michael is such a terrible character. Saru should have sent her to 20 years of hard labour on Rura Penthe. Maybe then she would learn her place. :)

Was that Lauren Tom as one of the Starfleet captains? We’ve got our first Futurama actor. :)

Are those flashbacks going to show us what happened to Lorca? About time he came back.
