Titan might have needed dilithium for other reasons, they could just want to get off Titan and get somewhere else.

Little things like distances covered too fast aren't as big a problem as story point inconsistencies or character behavior not making sense.

People keep worrying that this Adria is carrying Dax. While I do think we will see Dax or hear of the symbiont in some form, let’s remember that the Admiral’s name is Senna Tal. That would likely suggest that Tal was the symbiont at hand here.

Possibly, but we have no reason to think humans with Trill symbionts adapt Trill naming conventions.

The only direct reason we have to suspect it's Dax is our knowledge of the writers' desire to draw that kind of reference. But she fits the profile in many ways. A scientist whose knowledge implies she might have been in Starfleet around the 23rd-25th century. With ties to Earth and an absolute belief in the mission of the Federation.

I like Book. I want to see more of the cat.

I’m not all that interested in another Wesley Crusher/Po genius teenager character and I have my doubts it is physiologically possible for a human to be host to a Trill. Let’s operate under the assumption that she is a Human-Trill hybrid.

Why exactly does the Federation need to be restored again? I don’t know that it was ever that great for the little guys among them. Isn’t it rather presumptuous of Burnham?

Or we can point out to everyone that it makes no sense and call the writers out for their failures.

Well, this is going to take a very, very long time. You go first with TOS and TNG. let’s keep it to 1000 complaints per season, for expediency sake. I’ll then pick up with DS9 and Voyager, then somebody else can pick up from there.

Wait, do we only point things out for DSC or are we consistent?

Dilithium is also a strategic resource that couriers are very much in demand of. Presumably you can get the attention of many couriers if you have access to a dilithium supply, which can buy you other things.

My impression is they were no longer self sufficient and Earth refused to trade, so they needed Dilithium to go outsystem.
They state Titan became self sufficient and cut ties to Earth. Then they messed up while playing with space gasoline, and suddenly needed help, which Earth couldn't give because their comms range is limited to low Earth orbit.

Couldn’t have sent a sub light probe to Earth explaining the situation?

They shouldn't have to, because they apparently have sensors which can detect Discovery about a million miles distant from Saturn, which is better than Earth's sensors. And if you have senors that good you should have comms at least that good.

Perhaps the Lunar and Mars Colonies were deserted and everyone pulled back to Earth for mutual defense.
Especially after all Hell broke loose with The Burn, it was decided that it was too risky to try and defend the Colonies when Earth was pretty much a fortress by that time.

But seriously did no one notice the freakin’ Cardassian? It was admittedly very very brief, but I want a screenshot of that sucker. I wonder what they’re doing with the bloody Cardies on DSC :cardie: :cardie: :rommie:
