All I know is that Garret Wang must be fucking fuming.
Well, good for him. His design still sucks. Granted he’s a good designer and he had to follow Pocket Books’ rules for the contest, but the best he could do was a Sovereign/Akira mishmash?

The rules weren't that strict. I mean there were a bunch of designs that didn't look like that. This is the design the judging comity liked the most, so I don't think it's fair to put all the blame on Sean.
I agree with what you’re saying, but my point was that his design wasn’t really all that original. I’m not a designer and even I could have come up with ‘make a smaller Sovereign class in an Akira configuration with Akira nacelles and a pod on top.’
Come on, @Serveaux, you know better than that. Keep this kind of side-discussion out of this thread. Thank you.Or what?
You seem to be afraid of people expressing different values than yours, to the point of imagining that there's some dire consequence to your disagreeing other than their forming an unflattering opinion of you. Why is that?
Fits perfectly with all the other ships in every other show.Well, good for him. His design still sucks. Granted he’s a good designer and he had to follow Pocket Books’ rules for the contest, but the best he could do was a Sovereign/Akira mishmash?
And yet, it sounds strangely appealing when you describe it like that.

Fans don't believe in original designs.
No doubt.I beg to differ.
I like the Aventine but what's original about it? It looks like a stretched out Sovereign class, probably why I like it. But, I would hesitate to call it original. The Aventine was a original design. Hopefully that’s the next ship seen.
