The Future of Movie Theatres , your thoughts.

Last movie I went to see was Star Trek 2009 in IMAX.
Ticket prices have gotten so ridiculous that I'm beyond happy to wait for the much cheaper blu-ray (or rarely DVD) to watch at home and rip to the computer. Multiple viewings are better anyway and I have hundreds of DVD & blu-ray movies & TV shows now.
I remember being excited to go out and see movies in the 70's and 80's when it was the only way to go.
They're bringing back the Gremlin & Pacer

My favorite theatre is Alamo Drafthouse. It's fun but it's a pewter dish; everyone eating and drinking. Probably won't be back in one by mid 2021 at the earliest.
Theatres are still closed here, I believe. Though nothing perked my interest this year anyway. Last movie I saw was...The Favourite? Last one I wanted to see was 1917. Missed those.
I don't miss going to the theatre outright, it's a fun diversion is all. And as said above there's nothing this year anyway that I would risk going to a theatre for.
As for the future - contraction. Heavy, heavy contraction. At best.
I rarely do re-watches; most movies aren't alluring for that and my memory is great. Theatres - one off, that's fine for me.

That is unfortunately is very politically charged question and I for one am disappointed and frustrated in it too.
There’s a concerted propaganda campaign to convince people that COVID is a liberal conspiracy to embarrass Trump and make them give up their civil liberties run by people who stand to lose billions of dollars from an economic slowdown, and 1/3 of Americans are so predisposed to believe that kind of conspiracy they dismiss things like “Facts” and “Proof” as part of the conspiracy.
Pretty much. The theater is a fun experience but hardly one I'm aching to return to. Like major sporting events if it didn't return my life would like continue on largely unaffected.
The only one near me is attached to a science centre, and the science centre has only been open with reduced hours and capacity, and in fact have had to lay off much of its staff temporarily, so I'm not even sure if the theatre is one of the things that is open.
AMC is American Movie Channel, showing old movies on cable/satellite services.
Although in this context they're probably talking about AMC Theatres, which I believe is unrelated to AMC Networks (although I could be wrong on that). The abbreviation comes from its original name of "American Multi-Cinema".
The largest theater chain in the States. It would allow you to see three movies a week for $20 a month. It's still ongoing but not worth it.
We have a decent setup at home (100 in digital projector, 7.1 sound) so I can't say I miss the theaters much. Last time I went was in the summer, for a 40th anniversary show of The Empire Strikes Back. That was fun. The theater was almost empty, as we went to a matinee showing on a weekday (summer vacation). At the time, masks weren't yet recommended, never mind mandated, in public indoors spaces in my area. I'll wear a mask when necessary to protect others, but my preferred means of minimizing the risk of catching the virus is to simply to avoid going out in public unless absolutely necessary, with the sole exception of my daily walks, where I can avoid people to the extent that masks aren't necessary.
