How does Lower Decks compare to Star Trek the Animated Series?

Spent my 5.99. Watched ep 1. Laughed once. It's so hyper and their speaking is very overdone. I am not from this culture. Off to watch #2 and see if it gets better. I liked the animated short btw.

I was glad to see ...
... an Edosian outside of TAS this week in "Much Ado About Boimler."

Sorry, I didn't realize that which species were in an episode was a spoiler. :alienblush:
Well, now you know. :nyah: Granted, it's a small spoiler, but it's a spoiler nonetheless. I'm just trying to err on the side of caution with this. A majority of threads in this subforum are sporting the spoiler tag, which is fine, but I'd like there to remain at least some spoiler-free threads for folks who don't want to be spoiled to venture into.

Especially when said alien species was featured in a preview trailer.
We saw his silhouette in the season trailer, but not in the trailer for this episode. And then people were only guessing as to his exact nature, we didn't know he was actually Edosian – and not Arex specifically, as has been theorized as well – before it was confirmed in the actual episode.

Did they actually refer to the species by that name in dialogue?
