Star Wars Books Thread

I started reading Catalyst yesterday, and it's off to a pretty good start so far.

If you've been waiting for issue 197 of Star Wars Insider to appear, it should be on news stands soon, I think. My subscriber copy showed up in today's mail.

That is sort of creepy. But I can see that as possible.

Also Luke's yellow lightsaber (which the old Kenner toys had until he get the green one). Interesting. I have one of Kenner's kid sized lightsabers from the Empire Strikes Back and it was yellow (it is badly beat up).

I decided to get the e-book version of Crash of Fate a couple days ago. It wasn't one I was dying to read, but it was free, so I figured what the hell, might as well get it. If they were going to go with a Galaxy's Edge book, I would have rather seen Black Spire as the freebie, but oh well.

Wow, the latest issue of the Vader comics is brutal.

Palpatine punishes Vader for letting Luke go (and letting Padme's body double looking for revenge to live) by crushing and ripping off his mechanical limbs, leaving him on the side of the lava river on Mustafar where he found him, with just his Lightsaber. It's a test to see if he can survive, Papa Palps is also not allowing him to use the force.

Also Ochi from TROS flashbacks is in the next issue, he was the sith assassin who killed Rey's parents, whos ship they found on Pasaana

That is brutal. Considering that its not all that long between Bespin and the Battle of Endor, you got to wonder if Palpatine didn't just set himself up for Anakin's return/Vader's betrayal.

They're definitely aiming for that scene on the landing pad where Vader makes it clear to Luke that he hates being Vader, but he can't refuse the Emperor, as opposed to the first two movies where he was much more personally enthusiastic about evil.

Which is fantastic because damn, the change in Vader throughout the course of all three OT films is definitely felt.

Except for his right arm for some reason. Perhaps the other limbs were made from shoddy materials and easier for Palpatine to crush
