NFL 2020 Season: We're gonna bite a kneecap off

Lions Twitter is split blaming a rookie in his first game for dropping a single pass or the head coach. I'm more on the latter side of that argument.

Over three years, Patricia has won the same amount of games as Jim Caldwell did in his last season alone. I was one of the Lions fans saying we needed to move on from Caldwell, but we took a giant step back.

Good win for the Raiders at Carolina. Came from behind, then won it on a 4th down down stop by the defense, which has been our biggest weakness for the last several years.

Our O-line allowed no sacks, and Josh Jacobs, the answer to the question of why you should draft a running back in the first round), scored 3 touchdowns.

I’m encouraged.

It’s going to take a while to get used to “Las Vegas Raiders.”

Too early to really get excited but Cam Newton looked very solid this weekend. They kept the offense pretty simple but it's a good sign for the future that he seems to be picking up McDaniels' playbook so well already, given the weird offseason.

I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by what went on this past weekend. Many of the teams were playing at a much higher level than I would have expected for such a wonky practice schedule and zero preseason games. To be fair, we are kind of seeing preseason games right now, as different things are being experimented with, but it’s not nearly as frenetic and chaotic as I remember it being in years past. And while there were some occasional bad calls, I honestly can’t say that I hate the refs this year. The gaffed-in crowd sounds are amusing, though.

I can't see Patricia surviving another season without a playoff appearance. Another Belichick coordinator who has failed as a head coach.

We can only hope.

Any football fan could have told the Ford's that none of the members of the Belichick coaching tree, with the possible exception of Mike Vrabel at this point, have never been able to replicate what the hoodie has. I don't know what kind of coach this team needs to be honest. They have wasted Stafford's career to this point and they aren't going to one able to build a team in the time he has left to make a run, especially after Patricia's tenure.

Oddly, it sounds about as natural to me as Oakland, probably because there’s not all that much difference between “Las” and “Los” as in Los Angeles.[/QUOTE]

Solid win for my Rams today. Other than Cupp’s fumble that gave them an easy TD, it was about perfect.

LA must have had 160-170 yard rushing. I love to see that!

Not a good day for Denver - too many injuries of top players.

And my Reds... er... Washington players are being handily buried by Arizona. :sigh:

Other random thoughts:

The 49ers are pretty beat up.

Saquon Barkley likely has an ACL tear.

And the Jets are not very good at football.

Rams vs. Bills next week could be a good one.

I'm really not surprised. It's been years since the exhibition season was anything more than a money grab. If anything, I would say that the quality of play so far has been at least as good, if not better than what we've seen in the last few years.

Wow, the Rams are back. That touchdown throw from Goff to Hgbee was pretty special. Legit playoff contenders.

Chiefs played like a champion who has become ‘the hunted.’ AFC West gonna be tough this season.
