To be honest I had only seen that original class a few times, and I remember one of the pics I saw of it had "USS EAGLE" across it's hull, even searching out "Eagle Class Star Trek" years later for this venture I only found one pic to use as reference, and it was a bow on pic, so no impulse, nor underbelly to reference. So I had to improvise. lolNice! Your Eagle-class is a dead ringer for the FASA Larson-class, one of my favorites since the 1980s. The added details your take has are cool though. I like the thicker hull, the impulse engines and expanded engineering area. I never did care for the hanging dish a la Franz Joseph, but that's a matter of personal taste.
