My PL Galileo

Colors are Tamiya rattlecan AS-16 on top and AS-11 below.
Lighting is cheap Xmas LEDs.
Stand is borrowed from the PL 1/1000 Reliant.
Windows are Tamiya flat-coated.
Nacelle domes are Tamiya Pearl White,
Murasaki 312 done in Daz Bryce.

btw, here's what I do to get the lights to look good:

I like the lights under the nose. Initially I believe those were supposed to be lighted as well as the nacelle domes, but they never followed through with it.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but this looks TOO perfect. This looks like a CGI image of our favorite flying butter dish, it's so perfect. Maybe it's because you did such a professional job of photographing the model, just like they did with studio miniatures back in the day (multiple passes for "beauty", "lights only", etc.)

Honestly, if I didn't see the stand underneath the model, I would think this is a CGI image--it's that pristine.

You could probably knock some of that down by transferring to 16 mm film or something. Age the film, transfer again to videotape and you get a pre-remaster look

Oh, I could do all that in Corel Photopaint (I can't really afford Photoshop) with effects and filters.

Photography sometime hides all the little flaws on the model that are driving me crazy. In person, you can see a scratch here and a bad seam there. But one reason it looks as good as it does is that Tamiya spray lacquers go on SO smooth!
