Rocksteady, the developer of Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight, have officially announced that their next game is a Suicide Squad game. The announcement Tweet revealed a logo or teaser image which featured the words Suicide Squad in a target on Superman's head, so it looks like the rumors about a "Suicide Squad kills the Justice League" game might be true. The Tweet also says that more revealed at FanDome on the 22nd.
Nice! I'm a big fan of their Arkham games (hopefully we won't be getting many tank battles in Suicide Squad, I had quite my fill of them in Arkham Knight )
Look closely at the eyes on the Superman in that poster. They're cracked. Either Superman has developed Kryptonian crow's feet, or that's a Bizarro.
The schedule for DCFandome refers to the game as Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, so it looks like that will be the title. IGN has posted an article about one possible influence on the game, the Jusitice League vs Suicide Squad comic storyline. In the article they point to the same thing you did @Timby, but their theory is that Superman looks like because he's being controlled by Eclipso, who was also the bad guy in the comic story, and who makes people's eyes turn red, and their skin crack and turn white, when he's controlling them.
So it looks like it's Brainiac that is the bad guy who's controlling the JL, not the Eclipso. Sounds like they've got a new Harley, that didn't sound like a voice I've heard for her before. Is Capt. Boomerang using the boomerang to teleport something new they made up for the game? I don't remember ever seeing that with any other version of the character.
It is? Her voice sounded a little bit deeper than I thought it usually was, guess she must have just toned it down a bit. I know Arleen Sorkin was the original Harley, but I've heard Tara Strong as Harley more, so I tend to hear her voice when I think of Harley more than Sorkin's.
She confirmed it on Twitter. Maybe she's refined it over time, it sounds like she's doing more of her own thing than trying to mimic other's takes. I noticed it sounded like I remember from Injustice, I don't know if she voices game Harley differently than TV Harley perhaps? I really like that trailer, I've watched it like 10 times now, wonder what it would take to get Rocksteady to do an animated feature.
Yeah, that was a great trailer. Just for a comparison here she is in Arkham City It does sound a tiny bit deeper in the Suicide Squad trailer, but it's not quite as dramatic as I thought.
I'm interested. I loved Arkham City for the stealth mechanics, we'll see if they focus on the things that make that game good. I didn't like Arkham Knight as much cause they focused on less interesting mechanics.
The batmobile parts I did not like. The stealth missions introduced a mechanic where you jump out and take everyone out at the same time instead of sneaking around one by one.
This looks interesting, but if its a "live service" game, like I've seen people saying online (although I don't know if its been officially confirmed), that would really suck.
