Spoilers Lower Decks General Discussion Thread

I do like that the good guys seem to be the good guys. It may be simplistic, but I tire of every plot revolving around someone in the Federation/Starfleet/Section 31 as a bad guy who shits on the morals of the Federation while claiming to protect those morals.

New clip from episode three. Not as funny as some of the earlier stuff, but okay …

I got a chuckle. I wonder if that's the cold open this week?

I'm not sure. Usually, these clips have been cold opens, and unrelated to the episode at large. But this clip, with the discussion of buffer zones, might be related to the episode (which seems to he about eschewing the buffer zones and skipping margaritas, per the trailer).

Notably, the O'Brien statue is at a standing console, probably a transporter console, and it could very well be a reference to the "Chief O'Brien at Work" webcomic.

O'Brien being remembered for being a transporter officer rather than his work against the Dominion is actually something that fits.

I don't mind him being remembered that way either.

Some viewing numbers for Lower Decks, if you guys are interested.
-CTV Scifi: 527,000 & only SciFi+ show in top 30 (7 days)
-Crave: EP1 debuted at #3 slot for top programming & EP2 jumped up to the #2 slot for top programming

This does showcase an increase from EP1 to EP2...I wonder if we will see anything increase again for EP3

T’ana is miles above Pulaski. She gets extra intrigue points for not being a boring human.

Pulaski would be fine if they had her snarking against people who deserved it--which this crew absolutely does.

Though I suppose her name would be Purrlaski.

Alternative origin:

Doctor T'ana is the result of Doctor Pulaski being transporter mixed with Spot.
