I was hoping maybe we could get away with going if there were enough safety precautions, but after reading the article it sounds like even with safety precautions it still wouldn't be safe enough to risk it.
There are also a couple movies coming out tomorrow already, and I am very curious to see how they and New Mutants do.

I think there are two drive in theaters that will be showing the movie within driving distance of where I live... The problem is they are all operating at half capacity and have no reservation systems. I don't really want to go 3 hours early just to see this, so we'll see what happens.

Sucks, best I can tell it's not in my area. Apparently, we have some theaters doing the temp drive-in thing but they don't seem to be doing new releases.

Yeah all the popup drive ins are doing nostalgia movies. Only permanent old ones have first run stuff.

Turns out a relatively local one does have it, don't know how great the experience will be but what the hell, I got tickets for Friday, should be interesting.

So a lot of reviewers are refusing to review the film since Disney are refusing to allow them to watch it via a screener or secure link.

The Hollywood Reporter does have a review and it doesn't exactly sound worth risking your life (or the life of someone in your family) for.

Yeah, A.V. Club posted a whole article outlining what happened and how Disney has refused to give them a screener. Good on them and the other reviewers in boycotting to review the film if they can't do it safely.

Actually just discovered they're not doing Press Screenings period. If you want to review it you'll have to buy a ticket and go to a regular screening. Just more evidence that if they weren't contractually obliged it wouldn't be getting a cinema release at all, pandemic or not.
