I think BF are slowly getting betting in terms of diversifying their writing pool, albeit still too much at the fringes of their releases than the prime real estate. I do roll my eyes occasionally at seeing the same half-a-dozen blokes get all the best things to write (after Nick Briggs has kept the absolute best for himself).

I don't know, this might be another sign of the end times, Eccleston agreeing to do more Doctor Who! Seriously though, this is really cool.
I get the first argument. I do. Certainly having John Dorney, Matt Fitton, Jonathan Morris and Guy Adams churn in as much content as they do can be more than overwhelming - and indeed, Adams himself is incredibly hit and miss, more of an Alan Barnes kind of writer really. But at the same time, its what you said about writers who can deliver on time and without the worry of error on finish.
I guess one could argue that BF was, especially in the beginning, a lot more experimental. Certainly the whole of Gary Russel's time (really, the first 100 releases) were largely doing things that wouldn't happen today, like giving the Doctor an old lady as a companion or explore an entirely alien concept as anti-time in a season of stories. As good as BF can be nowadays, I do think a Chimes of Midnight in the main range is more unlikely than not, and that can only occur when you have literally a myriad lines running at the same time.
But that all being said, its still not enough tor me to "write off" BF. Heck no. And I still think her feelings are largely colored by the Dreyfus situation, since her newfound grievance with the company did not become recurring until BF issued that piss-poor apology of theirs regarding it.

Smith's said he's up for it, it's just that he (and Karen Gillan especially!!) are too damn busy with other roles and in no hurry. Capaldi will do it too at some point, but probably not until Jodie is off the air so as not to steal her thunder.

Not that they couldn't have (Jacob Dudman is quite versatile),with David Bradley, Tom Baker, Peter Davidson, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Ecclestone and David Tenant already on board, Matt Smith and Pater Capaldi "interested" we've got to expect some sort of all Doctor event in the foreseeable future. Especially with three successfully recast with Tim Treloar.

Well, unless you want Frazer Hines doing the voice of the Second, and I don't, no. War Doctor would also require another actor, and besides the fact that John Hurt is pretty irreplaceable in anyhthing, I would imagine the Time War Doctor might be the most justifiable of ommisions given that he's the most war-ridden and, well, un-Doctor-ish by design of them all. Perhaps he's that one incarnation that didn't meet his earlier/later selfs all the time?
i wonder if they could (with permission) repurpose outtakes, studio chatter or dialogue from his releases with Hurt. Just enough for a cameo.
There's so much potential. You could put him with anyone and I think the scenes would pop. I keep thinking of 12 and 9 together just standing across a room ripping into each other about eyebrows and ears.
I'm thinking that Eccleston, like Tenant isn't going to be around to do lots of BF projects (who knows ?) so presumably they'll be using him judiciously.
After the initial buzz and the run of four box sets I'd hope they'll get him to do the occasional special event with other Doctors and maybe the occasional box set of his own.

The tenth sign of the apocalypse? (with 2020, we're past seven for sure)
We know the War Doctor started quite young, and he ended quite old. (Personally, I take the ages he and his successors use as a count from "Doctor, no more.") Though the first Big Finish set uses a Time Destructor to age the War Doctor from young and sexy to old and decrepit, I have no problem with Big Finish recasting for a "young" War Doctor. I don't even think they need someone to do a close vocal impression of 1970s John Hurt. I'd rather see them cast someone who can develop the role of the young War Doctor.
There's really only one incarnation I have ever wanted the War Doctor to meet -- other than in "The Day of the Doctor," of course -- and that's the fourth Doctor. I would have loved having John Hurt and Tom Baker in the same "space" together. A recast War Doctor won't have the same energy in that team-up.
Hines won't record as Jamie if they picked him, though. And they're rather respectful of Hines, so I don't see it happening anytime soon. Which is a shame, because he's frickin' amazing.

According to the advert at the end of the adaptation of Michael Moorcock’s “The King Of The Swords”, Graphic Audio has done around 900 productions and 60 series. Wish they’d do more Champion Eternal stuff than just Corum, though he is my fave. The amount of cds for Sanderson’s “Stormlight” books is staggering.
Ninth Doctor Catchphrase!
He was interviewed this morning from the car park at Big Finish's studio. Mostly about charity work but he was asked if these recordings meant we might see him back on TV again. His reply made it clear that there's still no love lost between him and the BBC.
I also assume that he's going to have to start recording them from home as London goes into severe lock down from tomorrow.
