Poll Who would you be?

One of the things I loved most about the first episode is how much it feels like some of these characters are almost like fans in the universe. How many of us wouldn’t react like Tendi if we arrived to our first starship assignment? Or fool around in the holodeck like Mariner? Who do you feel like you’re most like, based on this first episode’s setup?

In my 20s, I would've been Boimler. But nowadays, I'd be Mariner.

At work, as a Videographer/Editor, I went from staff (at a college) to freelance (as a contractor) to staff again (at a public access station). Which is sort of like being "demoted" and "re-promoted" again. I was more likely to go "by the book" before. Then I realized "the book" and "what you're supposed to do" never did a damn thing for me (not just at work, but with life in general). I'm not a fan of work-place politics. If you think they wouldn't have that at a college, you'd think wrong.

Plus I didn't really drink that much in my 20s. That came later. So another way I'd relate to Mariner more now. Where's the Romulan Whiskey?

before the augmentation or if that’s a result of it. He’s definitely is super into engineering and problem solving, but maybe that’s about the augmentation.

I too am a Boimler, but when I was in college, many of my friends were Mariners. I’m still by-the-books, though, and “ambitious” (but not as ambitious as Boimler — I’m okay with not being a captain, I’d rather be a department head).

I drank way more in my 20s for sure haha I think that’s the way in which I used to be most like Mariner, but I’ve always been pretty Boimler-esque. The anti-anxiety medicine I take certainly helps haha
