Agents of SHIELD First Time Viewing

The funny thing is as much as I loathed Ward throughout the show, his role during the Simulation is by far my favorite version of him and was actually enjoyable.
Yeah, I thought that was the best use of the character since the first or second season.

They even brought Tripp into this reality. No Bobby and Hunter yet. Do they ever appear again? I know Orville happened but you’d think they’d take opportunities like this for a cameo.

That twist “It was the actual Mason and they didn’t know it”, wow.

Why didn’t May die when she threw the terragen crystal at Daisy?

Mack chose the fiction cause he has a daughter.

Is that how he gets 24red or does he get drawn out later?

My theory is still only Coulson, Daisy, Fitz, Simmons and May have bubble status and everyone else is just a 24 waiting to happen.

I love how they tricked her by sending Ghost Rider into Phil.

And they immediately get kidnapped and sent to an Alien movie. Dudes can’t catch a break.

Are these more of the evil Kree who created inhumans? And why no Fitz?

I don't remember the situation in the Framework specifically, but pure terragen is harmless to regular humans. It's the metal Diviner they're encased in that kills humans. The reason the terragen crystals from Afterlife killed humans was that, to stretch their supply, that group melted a Diviner with the terragen still inside and diluted the mixture to make new crystals. As long as that crystal didn't come from Afterlife, it would've been safe to handle with bare hands.

That Kree who loves only flawless humans is super over the top. He had major Intendant vibes.

A few questions.

If Daisy destroyed Earth, why did sending her to the future not save it? If she goes back later and destroys it why can’t she save the world by shooting herself?

Where are the Asgardians in all this? Why do they allow the Kree to do this? Or the good Kree?

How long until we see what’s going on with Fitz?

What was Coulson’s change in the matrix? I would have thought his one regret was leaving his girlfriend when he died.

How does this show react to the snap?

Does the show ever return to any status quo where the crew gets a summer off to just be normal or is it disaster after disaster from here on out?

This season so far seems like a combination of the DS9 MU and that weird dimension in the Angel S2 finale. I hope the whole season isn’t here.

The best thing to say to answer most of your questions is to keep watching. Overall, how did you like season 4?

Just before he was captured by Aida, he was wondering about what life had been like if he hadn't been a secret agent.

All the "gifts" the characters were given were seeded a few episodes earlier in that season. It's interesting seeing you reach years back into the past to something that was almost forgotten because, since you're binging the show, it's all much more recent for you.

How does this show react to the snap?

That remains to be seen.

I'm not being coy about spoilers, I mean nothing happened yet with it. It's kind of weird if you're expecting it.

Putting it in spoiler code just in case.

I'm still surprised it seemed like Shield deviated from Infinity War. The podcast I've been listening to after each episode said that the writers said that this takes place way before Infinity War. Still, considering how they matched up Winter Soldier and Civil War I really do wonder the snap is how this series ends. I kinda hope not because we've moved past Endgame now so to not know what happened to SHIELD after the snap would feel like a cop out.

It's really a shame the connections between the show and the movies broke down the way they did, it would have been nice to get direct tie ins to the last few movies. I know the show and the movies are done by separate groups, but I wouldn't think it would have been that hard for the two groups to work out ways to more directly connect AoS to what was going on in the later movies.

It was really good overall. I'd put it just a bit lower than 2 and 3 because the narrative is more disjointed. The ghost rider stuff was excellent and they did a great job with the VR world. But if felt like they had to make the characters stupider to allow Aida to become a threat in the first place.

So, if this is still the same timeline as the future (Which is necessary if Fitz was able to get there through cryo), it means either Daisy was not responsible for the quake, or at some point she came back and caused it. In which case Daisy is in the position to save the world just by putting a gun in her mouth.

Assuming the Earth gets saved, that must mean either they threw out the 'Every change is in a new timeline' thing, or they failed to save the world and just created a new world that was saved.

I liked what they did for Hunter and Bobby with "We're a couple, apart".

Also, is that inhuman kid going to turn out to be a descendent of Mack and Elena? (Small world syndrome and all).

Umm....short version: no they don't throw out that notion, but it's complicated, and there's a wildcard this time around. (No pun intended...)

I'm through episode 9 now, when Robin tells May how to save the world.

This episode implies there are two timelines spawned here and Robin is aware of both of them in both of them.

This sort of storyline starts to edge on territory where if it were really in continuity with the movies, some of the big name superheroes probably would have gotten involved. Like, any of the superheroes who could have survived the Earth shaking apart which is tons of them should have interceded somehow in the Kree takeover.

Like, Dr Strange could easily just show up and open a little portal exactly when and where they have to be to fix things.

I’ve really liked this arc since Fitz showed up, in fact I’ve watched 5 episodes today. The whole Other Elena thing. Saving Coulson is what destroys the Earth and we already saw a flash of a frustrated Elena being defeatist.

But it gets dragged down so much by the Blue Intendant. The main villain here is the weakest in the series so far.

Why did the military lady murder those other military officers anyway? She must be a real bad guy and not just misguided military person.

Why doesn’t Elena just shoot Coulson in the head now?

David Puddy hologram is weird actor choice.
