Agents of SHIELD First Time Viewing

Wow, lots of stuff went down in this episode. Hunter sacrifices May’s ex’s life for a failed shot at revenge. How she reacts to him moving forward could really be dangerous. And Lash usually looks human and is possibly an ACTU member.

If this planet has no sun how does it have a crescent moon? Unless it’s tidally locked and they are just on the wrong side.

Wha, May’s ex is Evil Sonic?

This show is just full of twists.

Wonder why he’s murdering all these people. And why he makes Daisy the exception.

ATCU lady is hydra too?

I’m all for twists but this one seems a bit basic. She was more interesting as a shade of grey.

The thing about twists is there’s too major conditions to make them work.

1) They have to be unexpected, but still make sense given what you already know.

2) They have to be enough of an exception that the twist isn’t the default expectation and the twist fatigue doesn’t keep you from getting attached.

Shield is starting to approach 24 territory with the amount of twists, where you assume everyone will either die or be a traitor and it stops you from getting attached.

Heh, end of one episode, “Oh, she’s not just a traitor. That’s more interesting. Start of next episode “Aaaand she’s dead”.

Jack Bauering intensifies!

Only difference is this show has four Chloes instead of one. (Assuming Bobby, Hunter and Mack are not Chloes. Bobby at least can’t be a regular after season 4 cause she’s reassigned to The Orville.)

I noticed you are past "4722 hours". I had a question about that episode. It was an amazing episode and Henstridge did an amazing job with it, but if the guy was there for 14 years, how did he get food? There didn't look like there was anything edible on the planet, other than that pond creature thing. It only slightly bothered me as I was watching it.

I do recall a scene where Simmons went out foraging (I think it was right before she found the sword?) for some kind of root vegetable thing and some kind of squidgy fungus berries growing on a rock, so between those and the predatory kelp thing there is clearly an active ecosystem that provides a sustainable if meagre supply of food for one or two people.

So, the great locked away evil was a gu’ald. Neat. I don’t get how Ward got out with the gu’ald though, when did he have the time?

I suspected maybe Will didn’t survive the escape but was hoping he would have joined Shield for a while and had a proper love triangle.

It’s amazing how much the writers are hinging onto the Ward actor at all costs.

Ward really did get better from the first season to where you are. Once they made him Hydra, he was much more interesting.

when you are done with the season (or anytime before you get to season 7) watch Agent Carter.

Netflix only has it through season 6, will I be able to catch season 7 on the network website when I get there?
Hulu is currently showing season 7 episodes but they’ve already dropped episodes 1-3. I think someone just posted that Shield is on Dis+, but I can’t find it there.

If their contract with Netflix remains intact then I think AOS season 7 will go there sometime after the final episode airs. So, if you have Netflix, you do have some time to catch the full season.
She was a hacker, and orphan, and didn't know who her parents were. That was basically it. Why Skye?
It does sound cool, and Daisy doesn’t, that’s the p
To me, Skye seemed like kind of a reach for current culture cool. Daisy sounds like retro cool to me. It’s the kind of name one might give to a child when you’re trying to buck the current trends.

I liked “Daisy” from the start, and started using that name right away. Don’t think I’v even accidentally called her Skye since finding out her real name. In fact, Skye sounds a bit corny to me now.

I see Daisy as a bit of an infantilizing name. Which I think was the point to show Cal’s perception of Daisy. But as a badass adult being called it by her badass friends it just feels awkward.

Makes me think of a dainty five year old girl in 1950 trying to help Mommy with the cooking.

The way Ward are those people reminds me of what’s her name from Angel season four. They have a lot of parallels. Both have mind control abilities, both heal themselves by eating lots of humans which they accomplish by locking them in a room together and unleashing energy from inside them, both have bugs crawling in them if you look hard enough.

^ You don’t think of hot women in short shorts or young ladies saving the galaxy?

Being too damned old, all the recent popular names sound to me like they should be from the old west or as you say 1950 or earlier. I mean Hazel is a top 10 name for Pete’s sake. Where have all the Jennifers and Jessicas gone?

Daisy in particular though has like a 'Cindy Lou Who' kind of feel to it. It's not cause it's retro, it's cause it brings the mental image of a delicate flower needing to be protected. Which I think is the point, it's how Cal always saw her.

Daisies don't have agency. They sit there and are pretty and rely entirely on the gardener to thrive.
