I don't think she needs the money either but I was thinking more about just enjoying the work she does. Being able to influence and make movies and basically enjoy having a purpose in life. One thing I always read about is how people when they retire have problems coping without that purpose. I mean she has the money I am guessing she can travel and experience all the world has to offer but I still got to wonder if that is enough for some people especially ones who have reached near the mountain top of success.

I hope to retire by 65. That’s what many aim for. But I doubt sincerely Kennedy needs the money.
Meh, my dad's been retired for over a year and he has never been busier.

I figure I'll retire around 75 to 80, depending on health.

I wasn’t talking about being busy. My parents retired over a decade ago and they are the same — super busy. But they have enough money that they don’t have to bring in income. Kennedy is likely the same way. I’d rather enjoy my time then work JUST to work.

Neither do my parents.

As for me, my job is one I love so working unti 70 is fine by me.

Just give her job to Dave Filoni. The man gets it, I mean he really, really gets it on an elemental level that no one else but probably George Lucas does.

I think it would mean more Mandolorians. Also more Clone Wars as well. Got the New Batch coming up and the Han Solo one. Maybe the Caspien one and the female Jedi one as well but I wouldn't count on those last two especially if Kennedy is gone. I bet Lucas though has a idea that would be made. He would then produce it while others write and direct it.

Well we still got the Baby Yoda goes to preschool for younger fans.

We got Teenage Yoda which is Baby Yoda grown up finding himself with a diverse group of humans and aliens his age alll trapped on a abandoned Death Star where Grand Admiral Thrawn and the people of his home planet watch as they try and escape the base and all the booby traps planted for the YA audience.

We got PTSD Yoda having survived the death of Mando and his own wife and children wandering through the streets of a alien planet looking for drugs and wine to push away the pain for the Mature audience crowd.

Just give her job to Dave Filoni.
As soon as Filoni took the job, fandom would turn on him. We'd be seeing reactions along the lines of people saying he was better when he had people above him than he is now that he's top dog, people claiming the job is wearing him down and burning him out and you can see the results the product becoming progressively worst, or you'd have people coming out of the woodwork claiming he's always been an overrated hack and they never liked his work. Just look at when Steven Moffat took over Doctor Who for an example of what to expect.
So, not a reputable source, got it.
I fail to see why anyone would get so upset by this.
Probably because we go through dozens of "Kathleen Kennedy leaving/fired/represents the greatest evil imaginable" threads a month.

This is one of the links I read this morning, but, if it's inaccurate, so be it - I have no stake in this, and I fail to see why anyone would get so upset by this.

Without quotes from anyone involved, you essentially have people guessing the future and passing it off as truth, which has been going on since Kennedy signed her extension in 2018. When Disney decides to make a move, one way or another, everyone will know. It won't be on a back page rag.

Her contract ends in 2021, and Disney has said it won't be renewed. The word around the internet is that she's been fired, because she produced a batch of films that didn't do well, and the Sequels (EP 7-9) also didn't get good reviews.
Where has Disney said it won't ne renewed? Of the films under her watch one made over 2 billion, three over 1 billion and only one was a financial disappointment. And let's not forget The Mandalorian which was universally loved and several well received cartoons. I think she did really well so far.

According to this Desert News article, Grace Randolph from a show called Beyond the Trailer (which I have never heard of, but doens't seem very fandom menace-y to me) claims that Kennedy's contract won't be renewed in 2021 and that Dave Filoni and Jon Favreu will be replacing her. I'm really not sure why she'd know those things, if they are indeed true, but she doesn't seem to have this years long hatred for Kennedy.
Grace Randolph has no credibility, she's a known bullshitter. She's not a pro hater like some others but she will jump on rumors to get views.
