Cameos you're hoping to see...

Mike McMahan has all-but confirmed that they plan to have known Berman-era characters be referenced - and in some cases actually appear - in Lower Decks. This makes a lot of logical sense, considering the time period the show takes place (one year after Nemesis) along with the animated nature meaning aging actors can reprise their roles without looking out of place.

Obviously we have very little idea what the individual episodes will be like, but who are you hoping to see in the first season?

I want to be a big epic, but brief rendezvous planned with the Enterprise-E. The ship is scrubbed down, aft to stern, everyone is told exactly how to behave when meeting with the crew. Boimler himself has a prospective meeting with the Enterprise XO on a possible position on the Federation's flagship.

But, in order to loosen up, he gets drunk the night before and oversleeps. We never see the Enterprise, just experience Boimler's frustration.

McMahon spoke about how cameos will more than likely be from people we wouldn’t expect, which led me to believe he was suggesting appearances from less important Trek characters. I guess that fits with the show, too.

I can’t wait to find out!

A bored Q who trying to make the lives of the lower decks a living hell.

One mission should have them run into a federation timeship, the Enterprise-XD.

The beauty of animation is that they can include Q or any other ostensibly ageless characters (Lore?) or really any character from the Berman era without worrying about how the actor has aged.

I would like to see the Kelvin Verse visited. Think of it. Every trek show (with the exception of TNG/Picard) has visited the mirror verse. How about one that visits the Kelvin timeline, instead

How would this work? I mean, how would we know they passed into the 24th century Kelvinverse without some sort of infodump?

Passing in to an alternate dimension necessitates an info dump.

Pretty much happens in all the comics too.
