Agree, I think Enterprise did a very good representation of the MU

You can watch Mirror, Mirror with just the isolated score on the Roddenberry Vault set. It’s an incredibly gorgeous and inventive episode, with great pacing and performances. It’s no surprise why it penetrated popular culture, and that the franchise has not ignored that well.

I mostly hated the whole mirror universe concept and execution, but I honestly think ENT did it best. Not great, but best of it all.

Not a controversial opinion, but the response to it would be a Controversial Opinion at the time of its release:

I think they'll have a 60th Anniversary Special in 2026 where all the Star Trek series currently in-production will somehow crossover with each other across time and space.

Yes, a one off and never go back. Although the mirror arc on STD was pretty good, I wouldn't have missed it's absence.
If mirror Archer had been severly toned down I would be able to agree. Ambitious imperial officer yes, looney tunes cartoon character no.

DS9's first mirror universe episode was a nice little revisit of the reality, but the others weren't great. ENT's two-parter was also very enjoyable as they didn't try to make it a crossover, it was just a stand alone.

On one hand I would have loved to see the TNG Mirror Universe, just for curiosity's sake and to see what they would have done with Mirror Troi.
But on the other hand the Mirror Universe in Ds9 was pretty bad. And in the newer shows the Mirror Universe and the characters it spawns are even worse, so yeah, I'd be alright with it staying a TOS exclusive.

In my head canon for TOS, I like to think that the Halkans were more than meets the eye, and the whole "mirror universe" scenario was a Halkan illusion to test our heroes in some bizarre way that we would find difficult to understand. But DS9 negated that possibility.

I'm not a fan of the quantum multiverse theory, so in my headcanon the events of Parallels are Q having fun with Worf and possibly trying to make his way of thinking less ridgid in that trickster mentor kind of way he sometimes has.
it's just some silly headcanon I have and I would have never mentioned it if not for your message :-P
I think I read that one, they gave Picard a beard and made him very buff didn't they? And Deanna ran around in a gown that was even more revealing than the things she wore on the show.

    That's pretty standard MU stuff.

I haven't read the IDW comic, but Diane Duane's TNG novel Dark Mirror is fantastic.

As a vehicle for Stewart's acting abilities, it functioned as that. As a Star Trek episode, your description is accurate.

After Spock died in TWoK he should have stayed that way. Period.

Voyager should be totally rebooted. Say a TOS/TOS-movie era crew catapulted to the delta quadrant, having to work alongside a Klingon Bird of Prey to survive.
