Disney to reboot Star Wars Sequels?

Wonderful news if true. I really hope it happens.

That being said, the source for this is Doomcock, and while I enjoy his rants, I wouldn't call him credible.

This is happening.

Cool. Then what?

See, that's the problem with these types of "news." Everyone is convinced that decanonizing the ST somehow fixes everything...except it doesn't. They are not going to remake the ST, unless fans will be happy with deep fake Carrie Fisher.

So, and seeing this rumor around internet just begs the question, what does this accomplish? What does this change?

What a weird question... Then they will obviously make something completely different so we can demand that they reboot it.

This is becoming an absurdity. Kowtowing to fan demands means that the stories are near meaningless. Canon will be changed at the drop of a hat over fear of the mob.

So, why not just ignore the stuff we don't like? Because, they are not going to redo the ST even if it is stricken from canon.

Even if Disney does for whatever reason decide to move away from the ST, they won't "reboot" it; they'll just quietly ignore it, the same way they've been doing with the prequels.

So, like what I do with the Prequels?

Sorry, this whole idea feels like an exercise in absurdity.

Even if Disney were to "decanonize" the Sequel Trilogy, they're still going to sell it on Blu-Ray, they're still going to license the shit out of it, they're still going to stream it. The Sequel Trilogy is a thing that exists, it's a thing Disney spent a lot of money on and are making even more money on, and it's not going away.

It's like when Gene Roddenberry said that Star Trek V was apocryphal. I might have taken that seriously if Paramount stopped selling the movie on VHS.

Is it like complaining about the ST all the time instead of watching things that are enjoyable?

If the ST is no longer canon does that mean people will actually ignore it?

Which is what...exactly? Did they film an entire trilogy in secret and have been sitting on it like the real moon landing tapes? :vulcan:
In my university, one of my coworkers in the computer lab believed that Russia landed on the Moon first, but since they had no way to get their astronaut back they covered it up. Perhaps its those Moon landing tapes you are looking for??
