NEED some Help...

Atolm

Does anyone have any diagrams or schematics or good images of the TOS eps "Menagerie 1&2" Christopher Pike's Chair? I looked online and nothing. I mean nothing. I am looking to make one for a playmates Star Trek custom of Chris Pike, but I'd like it to be kinda accurate... lol
Thanks in advance.

There is no site - that I ever seen - that has any dimensions on that chair. All you can do is attempt to estimate based on the limited range of photos.

That's basically what the guy in the video posted above had to do.

No idea, sorry atolm
NP bro

How would that help with the chair's dimensions? It's just a recap of the episode with some commentary.
Then it will not be accurate. It would be my best guess... and if I did that, I might as well just design my own take. Dimensions, and schematics give proportions...that in turn creates accuracy.

Aye and thanks for the Vid...it was cool, but it doesn't look accurate, it might be just me, but if it's his best guess then I might need to do the same

I was asking why @StarCruiser thought that would help. There's no good images of the chair there.

Oh I am sorry. I misunderstood.
I wonder if Lord Other was able to find anything

I didn't find anything in the way of actual Jefferies blues or dims for Pike's chair.. I found some pretty hi-res photos with some actors with known heights that you could use as "standard measures" but that's about it unfortunately.

Thanks bro. I cannot believe that this should be so hard to do, but evidently it is. Very disheartening.

Okay I figured I'd just give it a shot for starting some views... Here is the Side:

Try contacting the Star Trek Original Series Set Tour people. If anyone knows they may be the ones. They have remarkable knowledge and access based on what I saw at their museum.

Great suggestion, but I got nowhere with it :/

If I may make a suggestion- if you can find any reference materials on the dims of wheelchairs from the period, it may help getting the sizing right. I may be in error, but as I recall they built the chair prop around a actual wheelchair that was on hand.

That may work.

I also fixed the bottom front of the side profile...I got to see some pictures of a hallmark ornament and it shows that the front bottom extended further than the "base". Now I know Hallmark is never 100% accurate, but it seemed to fit the bill.

Here are some reference photos for you.. I don't know if you have any of them already, but I didn't figure it would hurt to make sure.

Those are Great! Especially the first one, As I've never seen that as a still. Enevn in the Ep, it must have been brief. Thank you bro!
BTW: If you attempt to look up wheelchairs from 1966, you will be in a world of hurt...lol

If there is an image a few frames earlier than this one at the end of part 1, you might be able to estimate the width of the base as compared to the door.
