DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

They can obviously do whatever they want with the characters, all I'm doing is trying to explain why I didn't like the direction they went in, and why I think it was mistake to go that way.

..and as Ovation pointed out, you not liking it does not make the selected course incorrect.

Yes, I've seen the movies and understand why the characters acted the way they did in the movies, what I'm saying is I'd have rather seen movies where the characters were in different situations and didn't need to act the way they did in those movies. You keep treating this like this was all real and the people who made the movies had no control over what the characters did.

You're still not getting it: as I've pointed out before, introducing a new movie/comic universe required situations to challenge and give a great, defining purpose to the heroes, and light, quip-ridden films fail to achieve that, as the situations are deflated by misplaced humor like the worst of the MCU, which is no way to launch Superman and certainly not Batman for a film universe. Snyder and Goyer knew that there was one direction the film adaptations could take to make those characters work in the best possible way as live action versions, and that meant not retreading--to any degree--the MCU formula.

OK, maybe I shouldn't say going in that direction was "mistake", it is just not the direction I want to see these characters go in.
I don't think there is any way I could possibly, ever disagree more with what you just said about the MCU. The humor absolutely in no way deflated the situation, it was the best possible thing they could do in the situations they were in because it kept thing light and fun, didn't let them get to dark.
The MCU, and the Arrowverse are exactly what I want from my superheroes.
There are some things, like the Last of Us and The 100, where I expect things to be dark and grim, but that is not what I want from characters like Superman. I go to movies like that to get away from that kind of stuff.
Hell, even The Last of Us, and The 100, as grim and dark as they still find moments of lightness, fun, and positivity.

A long-lived state of hostility exists between blacks and Mexicans, and much of it comes from racist perceptions born in Mexico, so conflict and displacing black people was an agenda, not happenstance, but certain people (not meaning you, theenglish) still preach the same, tired political lines used during every election cycle.

Interesting history lesson that I didn't know. But I wasn't really criticizing corporations exactly, just an overall system that perpetuates poverty by necessity. But my main point was against the claim that immigrants take people's jobs in reaction to an earlier post and using the example as how people use others as scapegoats to blame for their economic problems. Another example is how the Japanese were interred during WWII principally because white people blamed them for taking their jobs. (A Canadian example--I am not sure how that played out in the U.S.)

What a great time to be a comics fan. DC/Warners finally learned how to play the hype game with all these leaks and announcements.

If this leads down the road to a Batman Beyond movie set in the Burtonverse I will seriously consider covering myself in baby oil and sliding around on the floor in utter glee.

And if you throw in Nic Cage as future superman I will seriously consider covering myself in baby oil and picking a fight with a sumo wrestler.

Had forgotten about that one. The oil is staying in the drawer though until he's on screen live action in the suit.

I've never seen that cartoon, that had me laughing out loud!
Teen Titans Go to the Movies (the movie) is hilarious. It's basically Deadpool for kids (and adults). Never thought I would laugh so much about Batman's tragic past but this movie did it.

I didn't really like Keaton as Batman, but that's largely to do with not liking Burton's interpretation of the character, who had very little in common with Batman as I know him. I quite liked Keaton as the Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
