Today I saw my father for the first time in 10 weeks
We went for a socially distanced walk around the park and talked about things old and new

I had a video chat with my sister =) That was fun. If I could talk my dad into getting a webcam I could do that with my parents, too.

I walked out onto our deck and immediately felt something land on my wrist. I got ready to smack it because I thought "SPIDER!!" at first, but when I really saw it, I was charmed. It was a teeny tiny little praying mantis, the teeniest one I have ever seen. I took him over to some snapdragons and coaxed him to hop onto them, and he did.

I got my air conditioner fixed yesterday and it only cost half the price I was quoted. The worker kept eyeing my wheelchair and speaking to me in a slow and (I'm sure not to him) condescending manner. I don't know if that played a part in it or not, but the guy DID tell me he was only charging me half price "To make things easier for somebody in my circumstances". Regardless, I was happy to take the discount. I asked him if he would get in trouble with his boss, but he said it was fine because HE was the boss.

@RandyS : When I was in college, I had a friend who was wheelchair bound, and I noticed people spoke more slowly to her---which was ridiculous. She was in COLLEGE, for Christ's sake; her brain clearly worked just fine. She had a personal assistant who helped her travel to and from campus, and if we all went out to lunch together, the waitress would ask me or her assistant what she wanted. We always replied, "I don't know. Sue, what do you want?"

Well, I WAS brain damaged at birth, but not in the sense that I have trouble speaking or understanding things. It's my legs that were affected. I can walk, but tire easily and have alot of pain down there. But when people hear that I have cerebral palsy, they hear the "cerebral" part, and think I'm retarded or something. It's something I've just had to live with all my life.

And in this instance,it got me half price on a repair bill. Can't argue with that.

That's a shame. That's got to be frustrating for you.

    Welcome back

Today I laid down lead guitar tracks on 3 songs I am working on
To say my guitar skills are limited is an understatement, but I don't give a fuck
When it's all brought together I'm pleasantly surprised

Hubby wanted to get out of the house and do some shopping. Yes, my HUSBAND wanted to go out shopping. So after my 8.5 hours of work at my desk, we left the house, hit good ol' Bed, Bath & Beyond and picked up a few things: a new paper towel holder (hubby is obsessed with the things; don't ask me why), a pan organizer--the thing that allows to stack them on frame so you can remove them easily---and two new hand towels. I've been wanting new ones for years. The ones in the half-bath are so old, they're like sandpaper. Then we went out to Schlotzsky's for a quick dinner and then went for our weekly grocery store trip. Then we came home and watched "Please Stand By," which I loved. I think I identified with the main character a little more than I should have. ;)

A nice, but very tiring, Saturday.

My husband is making me some homemade soup. That will be nice since it is just cold and pouring outside.

Managed to locate the last two boxes of Coke Life Soda-- my drug of choice--which was no easy task, since they have all but disappeared from my area due to the aluminum shortage.

I was driving home from the store today and saw a turtle trying to cross the highway. The traffic wasn't too bad but I had to go a couple of miles before I could make a u turn. Luckily the turtle was still okay when I got back to it. I stopped the car and put it in my back seat. There was a pond a few blocks away so I took it there and released it. It seemed quite happy to get off the hot pavement and away from all of the cars rushing past it.

You're a hero! My family engages in turtle rescues, too.

Today is my 45th wedding anniversary. Time really flies...

I got to go to a used game store yesterday. It was nice being able to get out for awhile. :)
