Spoilers Batwoman - Season 1

No one is watching (The New) Dynasty?

Crystal and Alexis.

Joan Collins and Linda Evans. Updated.

End of Season one Crystal played by Nathalie Kelley dies, but it seems that that Crystal was a con woman who stole the identity of a Columbian Crime princess, who not that much later falls in love with, and marries Blake Carrington. The second actress only lasted lasted one year. She was replaced, but the character stayed the same, and no one mentions that she has a completely different face. 3 Crystal's in three years.

Niccolette Sheridan from Desperate Housewives was Alexis for 1 year. Her psycho son, mid tantrum, mashed her face into a lit up fire place, and then the son lied to Alexis' plastic surgeon, pretending that the new face that Alexis wanted was that of her own daughter. The Daughter actress, Elizabeth Gillies, played mom and daughter simultaneously. It was hilarious. Later Alexis returns with a new age appropriate face. Elaine Hendricks. 3 Alexis' in three years.

In reading that article and the comment about already having a couple of second season scripts written with Kate/Ruby Rose in mind, I'm reminded of similar things happening with the old Dr. Who when they transitioned from one Doctor to another.

The first few scripts written feature a general description of the Doctor and once the actor starts to settle into the role do the writers start writing the character for that actor.

The two examples I can think of are the transitions between Tom Baker and Peter Davison, where they filmed the entire first series out of sequence in order for the writers and Peter to settle into the part; meaning 'Castrovalva' was filmed last.

Then there's Colin Baker to Sylvester McCoy.

After Baker's abrupt departure/firing, Pip and Jane Baker were forced to write a regeneration story not knowing who the actor playing the new Doctor would be; and it was like that throughout the season.

It was only at the start of the next season that Sylvester McCoy, the producers and writers able to sit down and work up a description of the Doctor and where they wanted to take him.

I'm sure it will be something similar on Batwoman.

The first few scripts/episodes will have a slightly generic feel to them.

Once everyone finds their footing with the new actress, then the character will start to become more fully rounded.

Cold open of the season 2 opener.

Wilder, to camera: Hi. I'm Ryan Wilder. I'm new here. As for Kate Kane...

[Wilder holds up a milk carton with Ruby Rose's face and the text "Have you seen me?" printed on it.]

Wilder: ...she's missing.

The scenario Dreis is outlining (no killing off, no recast) requires Ruby to come back one more time (at season's end, if not sooner), to wrap her character up and give the seal of approval to her replacement. If Ruby ends up saying 'No, I am done with you' to that, they're really up the creek.

I don't see where it requires her to come back, Ryan can find out what happened to her, without actually finding her.

They like their opening narrations in the Arrowverse, so I wouldn't be surprised if we end up getting something from Ryan explaining who she is and what lead to Kate's disappearance.

Oh, man, I just thought of something. The finale cliffhanger was that Alice had disguised Hush as Bruce Wayne and sent him to Wayne Tower to get the journal or whatever. Imagine what Luke and Mary would do if Kate disappeared and "Bruce" suddenly came back. "Thank God you're here, Bruce! Quick, come down to the Batcave, suit up, and help us find Kate!"

Okay, Hush already knew that Bruce was Batman, so that wouldn't be an issue, but they would've just turned over the most advanced crimefighting system on the planet (sorry, Felicity) to a supervillain.

That would be a cheap, lazy way to deal with this terrible turn of events.

HBO Max has nudity.

HBO Max gets the real Batwoman, full of boobs and swearing, meanwhile the CW gets a neutered and censored half show for children.

Now I may have seen Ruby's boobs on Orange is the New Black, but that was 10 years ago, and Ruby is Happy that the pervert nerds out there still think that she has the body of a 23 year old, and she is remiss to correct them.

Is Rose's departure all about modesty?

They need a lead actress who will unbuckle for soft porn, and Ruby prefers not to.

I watch Batwoman on HBO and there are no extra boobs.

I'm talking about the future.

What Batwoman is going to be like when it's made for HBO Max, and the needs and limits of the CW are a distant and unimportant memory.

This is all guessing, and I'm probably wrong.

HBO Max has been around for 15 days.

It's not the same as HBO, or HBO Go.

Someone earlier said that all the Arrowverse shows were designed to air on the CW, and then to stream on the CW app... But moving forward, Batwoman will not stream on the CW App. It's for HBO Max. They knew that HBO Max was coming and they designed their Batwoman contracts around HBO Max's arrival before Batwoman Season 2.

Batwoman Season Two therefore is a streaming show, that is not fettered by the FCC, which doesn't mean that it has to go full Banshee, but Batwoman is a show about orientation, which on the road to sexuality, so why not show love scenes, if they are integral to the story?

My prediction is that, no worse than True Blood, or Orange is the New Black, the actors and actresses on Batwoman have been asked if they want to bare some flesh and simulate a little more sex, becuase the HBO Max audience expects things to be a little racy.

Ruby said "No" and decided to move on.

It's just a theory.

It's on HBO Max, isn't it? That's not the same network as HBO, it just shares branding and some of the content.

Well I watch it on the streaming service, but it airs on the cable channel as well.

And this is the European HBO, @Guy Gardener , so if there were gonna be boobs anywhere it would be here. :p

When did they announce that Batwoman is going to be exclusively on HBOMax? All I've heard was that it would be on both it and The CW.
If it does go to HBOMax exclusively, I can't see them going to much farther with the content than they did on The CW, they're not going to want to alienate all of the CW fans. Most of the shows that I've watched that started on a network or cable channel and switched to streaming, pretty much kept to the same content as they had on their original home, or at least didn't go to extreme with what they did add.
