News? Stories from Dubious Sources

Aww, seems there’s been no extra Trek news today during CBS’ digital upfronts. Oh well — it’s not like the “Strange New Worlds” announcement wasn’t plenty enough already!

We have always been in an alternate timeline. There is no Star Trek TV series in the Star Trek timeline.

The Orville exists in the Trek timeline, and inspired the creation of Starfleet, just as Star Trek exists in the Orville timeline.* Synchronicity!

*Seinfeld has been shown to exist on The Orville. Seinfeld references Trek.

Somebody is back at work in Canada and updating the production files. Secret Hideout/Wizbang/Take 5 have been subcontracted to oversee Ontario development, pre-production, production and/or post-production work for the following non-Star Trek series:
  • Clarice (CBS series)
  • Halo (Showtime series)
  • Known Space (Amazon series)
  • Langdon (NBC series)
  • Moonfall (Roland Emmerich movie)
  • Songbirds and Snakes (The Hunger Games spinoff)
  • The Man Who Fell To Earth (CBS All Access series)
There was a pilot called 'Good Sam' that's been axed.

I'd take anything from We Got This Covered with a HUGE grain of salt. Plus, with the fact that we are getting Spock in Strange New Worlds, an additional entry with him right now seems questionable.

So you're saying this source is.....dubious?

;)

I agree. Having Peck work full time on two shows seems unlikely, and the whole premise seems unnecessary to me.

"Reportedly" is my favorite weasel word for these kinds of news nowadays... no wonder WGTC has such a huge love for it.

I mean, if the crazy conspiracy theorist with the big signs is constantly yelling at the intersection about how the reptile government has put a chip in his ex-wife's brain to turn her against him then technically you could write an article about "Federal government reportedly involved in illegal mind-control experiments", sure.

The only truth is they've been auditioning Kirks, along with the rest of the TOS crew. I say it's for the Nickelodeon series, but I've seen it suggested by a DS9 producer that the next season of Short Treks are origin stories for the whole TOS crew.

Why do you believe its for the Nickelodeon series?

Also, do we need origin stories for all of the TOS crew? I mean really?
