If true, I'm looking forward to seeing how they pull it off. Was a copy of him hiding in the Mycellial Network? Is it sort like the Nexus where time has no meaning?

Cue 1940s announcer voice: "Find out all of this and more at this theater next week!"

just listening to the new Empire podcast with Issacs in very chatty mode and at one point around @17:15 he states 'having done star trek again recently..'

I don't think Issacs has been confirmed for any more Trek has he? sounds like hes just given away hes back in Discovery!
Just listened to it.........he's been acting for 32 years professionally. Recently might fall into 3 years ago. Perhaps he did a Short that hasn't been announced yet.

Perhaps like the Defiant when it crossed into the mirror universe and also a hundred years into the past, the real Lorca in trying to return to his own universe accidentally travelled into the future?

Does he just say he played Lorca recently (in which case, yeah, I'd classify 2017 as "recent" too) or did he actually say he played Lorca again?

I was going to suggest he could have been referring to Strange New World, though that hasn't started filming yet. Though I guess it's possible if the quote refers to watching TOS, he might have decided to watch The Cage or The Menagerie as preparation for SNW.

As it is, I've had a few ideas over the past year regarding how Prime Lorca could end up in the 32nd century. They're mostly convoluted and kind of fanwanky, but then what on this show isn't?

If teh Prime Lorca shows up, it could easily be in the 23rd century.

Edited title as it contained a spoiler that wasn't one and nobody needs those complaint emails

He said "having done Star Trek again, recently, I watched some the Original Series again"

So basically he's just saying that he rewatched TOS after he acted in DSC. And an extra "again" slips into the phrase, and is unlikely to mean anything much.

There are so many threads they could follow, from a flashback to the fate of Prime Lorca, to a flashback to the story of Mirror Lorca's rebellion against Georgiou (sorry, Her most Imperial Majesty, Mother of the Fatherland, Overlord of Vulcan, Dominus of Qo'noS, Regina Andor, Philippa Georgiou Augustus Iaponius Centarius), Mirror Lorca's Prime Universe backstory, Mirror Lorca surviving in the Mycelial Network and re-emerging, Prime Lorca dealing with the Mirror Universe and somehow surviving, pre-Mirror Universe Lorca crossing paths with Pike, and so on.
