Sorta want to see. 
As to the above mentioned duo... yes, their stuff sucks, but you have to consider also that the original Dune series was of...um... descending quality starting with Dune itself (which is a masterpiece) and ending with Chapterhouse Dune (barely readable).

Tbh: I loved Dune, but also loved all the Frank Herbert written books that followed.

Indeed. Heretics and Chapterhouse especially aren't that good at all.
I know people give BH and KJA a lot of crap, but Frank Herbert himself pretty much just shat out the last two Dune books he made, and honestly I found the NH/KJA stuff mixed, but some of it was pretty good (the side-quel books with Young Paul/etc being my favorite). I'd take stuff they're involved in over the weirdly sexual shit in Heretics of Dune and Chapterhouse Dune. Hell, I'd say the worst stuff in the BH/KJA Dune sequel books was the stuff they had to continue from Frank herbert's work (although he can't take the blame for those boring as hell prequels set 10,000 years or whatever before Dune, those were pretty much just BH/KJA fault as far as I'm aware).
Anyway, I don't have a lot of faith in this series in general, but its at least an interesting development, and those two being involved isn't one of the factors going against it for me.

It probably means they're getting a check. I'd be more concerned about the writers and showrunners.
Isn't it kind of weird how Frank's long-lost notes somehow completely misunderstood the ending of Chapterhouse?
The universe can be a strange place sometimes!
Interesting development in feeling that it's going to try and bridge the divide between the movie-spectacle and serialised television audiences.

With that said, I think the Bene Gesserit are among there more interesting facets of the Dune universe so I would be interested to give it a shot.

I never even read sisterhood of dune. I tried, oh how I tried, to read the new novels. I got as far as Paul running away from home to join the space circus and that was my breaking point.
Nope, supposedly all canon.
It befuddled me as well.
Never even picked it up. I read the first three prequels which were OK, I guess (by the standards of average science fiction literature, not that of FH's books.) I also read the 'Butlarian Jihad' books because I liked the world and wanted more on the background...though it quickly became apparent that those two just didn't have the chops for it and the patterns of hackneyed writing that was merely bothersome in the prequel trilogy was on full display in the pre-prequels.
After that I gave the post Chapterhouse books a shot because I had the slimiest of slim hopes that some of Frank's work would shine through...alas, it was probably the worse of the lot.
I think I tried 'Paul of Dune' out of morbid curiosity, but I don't think I got more than a few chapters in before giving up. After that, I honestly haven't even bothered to pay attention to what they've been producing.
I'm willing to give it about 10 mins of the first episode. If it gives me Pinky & The Brain vibes, then I'm out and not looking back. Life's too short to keep hoping something will get better in execution just because the basic concept has potential.
