Trek guest actors in maybe surprising roles

I winced at myself when I saw the phrase "the current episode of Cannon" and my reflexive thought was, "It's spelled 'canon.'" I need to stop spending so much time on the Internet... :D

Missed potential. A show about a guy "investigating" canon violations in Star Trek.

I just got The Immortal on DVD. :D

I haven't thought about The Immortal in years... I actually have an audio cassette somewhere that includes the last 15 minutes of the final episode (that I taped off the TV), January or February 1971. It's the first series with a real finale episode that I recall seeing. I don't remember how I heard that it was canceled, but I was ready with my tape recorder.

Maybe the story might have continued, but the way that Dominic Frontiere's music comes to a conclusion at the end of the episode makes clear that it's the series finale.

Yeah, I can imagine Ben Richards is still out there somewhere. (Unfortunately, Christopher George isn't.)

The only previous series I know of that had a finale was The Fugitive in 1967 (another show about a guy being chased) and I was much too young to see that.

Route 66 had a finale, where the two wandering leads finally decided to go home and settle down. That was in 1964, before either of the others.

But strangely enough never really had a first episode showing the results of his being tried and escaping!!!

Also present was personal favorite 70s actress Carol Lynley, who's so pretty I can't stand it, so having her together with my favorite Trek beauty made for a nice lunchtime viewing. Lynley played the same roll as she had in Night Stalker - the girlfriend in the pilot who doesn't get hired for the series. :(

Stanley Adams, basically playing a Libyan Cyrano Jones-type character on The Rat Patrol, "The Last Harbor Raid" (S1, 1966)

I had to to check - she seemed vaguely familiar, but I just didn't recognize Mrs Kang out of Klingon makeup.

Slimy, traitorous Juarista Ron Sobel, in Rawhide season 2 episode 1, "Incident of the Day of the Dead."

The current episode of 'Have Gun Will Travel' was written by Gene Roddenberry and the Chaplin's full name, although not mentioned in the episode, is Robert April.
