The Borg assimilated a whole galaxy and then entered our galaxy through the Delta quadrant and were created by the Starship Discovery when it took the sphere data into the future the zhat Vash fear the sinthetics but the synthetics are the only ones that can really stop the Borg I know this because this is the what I came up with when I was a kid and created the Borg for the Star Trek next Generation producers

I came up with something very, very similar to Species 8472 before Voyager ever aired, for my fanfic ideas, and one of my friends wrote a fanfic that featured DS9 getting the same upper pylon blown off as happened on the series a couple of years later, in almost identical circumstances.

I'm sorry guys. I'm afraid I'm responsible for the Borg. You see, one day I didn't separate the trash and the batteries in there must have reacted with the spoiled chicken and that created a race of evil cyborg hens, then some moldy carrots reacted with a broken headset and created a portal that sent those cyborg chicken to the Delta Quadrant (and possibly through time). There they rained down on a planet and infected the people there and became the Borg.

The original Borg had more than one drone they had Warrior drones that were covered in nanites that can take basically any shape look like anyone they could literally jump from the cube on to the outside of the ships and rip them open the nanites that cover them take the shape of phasers or other tools
Species 8472 are the same thing as the Borg just new machines there organic
