Section 31 had been put on hold before COVID-19 even started for "reasons"......... I had been told in January that Pike and Disco 4, and Picard 2 would all film before Section 31. Pike has been a done deal for 6-8 months. Logistics with one actor had been keeping it from being official. Now obviously that is resolved.

I genuinely do not enjoy "concern trolling" or whatever it is the kids are calling it, and I'm not opposed to a Section 31 series in the first place, but I can't help wondering if "reasons" = lack of fan enthusiasm.

It's not. I've heard three very distinct reasons why it was delayed, before the pandemic, and they're not neccessarily mutually exclusive.

1. The initial series premise was the Emperor and a team of familiar faces go back to the 1990s for whatever plot device. This concept was then spun out into its own potential series, with a producer from Halt and Catch Fire now involved. So the series was delayed to plan a new storyline.
   
2. Michelle Yeoh signed on to film a small project she's producing, a bigger Marvel movie, and the Avatar sequels, plus the sequels to Crazy Rich Asians. The timing meant the series needed to be delayed to 2021. Those films are good publicity for the series, so no issues from the higher ups.
   
3. Discovery wants the Emperor in all of Season 4 and 5.

So let's see.

Xavi.........how do you know what the higher ups think? First I have heard of the 90s thing. I think you are once again mistaken on many levels. They were already putting the sets up on a soundstage when it went on hold.......so no.
