My Tuvok!!! :-D
(and Tuvok/Neelix's senes were always funy and/or moving emotionally , like those with Tuvok/Janeway and Tuvok/Kes, then only ones to have pierced the image psycho-rigid of this Vulcan individual to show how caring he trully was :techman:)

Especially the Tuvok-Neelix interaction was great and sometimes hilarious.

Of course I guess it wasn't as serious as his feelings for Dr. Pel, but wasn't there a little bit of a spark between him and holodeck character of the Viking maiden in Harry's Beowulf program?
Yes, and her death in the Beowulf program made The Doctor stop using the name "Schweitzer" which he so carefully had chosen.

Personally I don't understand why because he could have accessed the program once the problems were solved and she would have been there alive and well. He could also have asked Kim or Paris to create some holodeck love program where she could have been his wife and where ge could relax when he wasn't on duty in sickbay.

On the other hand, his relationship with Denara Pel gave him the name Shmullus.

Not to mention that in some early Voyager books he's actually named Dr. Zimmerman which also could have been an excellent name for him.

Because of all that, I personally have named him Doctor Lewis Shmullus Schweizer Zimmerman! :techman:

I just recently re-read one of the early Voyager books where he's referred to as Doc Zimmerman. I think the title of it was The Escape. It's the first original Voyager novel released after the one that was a tie-in to the pilot episode.

And another thing about it that stands out to me is it's set before anyone knows Seska is a Cardassian in disguise.

The Doctor is called Zimmerman in the book "Violations" too.
I guess that there might have been an idea that he should be called Zimmerman in the series and since "The Escape" was written before any episode had been aired and most of "Violations" might have been written at that time as well, he was called Zimmerman in those books. Your observation about Seska in "The Escape" is correct too.

I really like the early Voyager books. All of them!

There are good stories and it's actually easy to fit them into an ongoing timeline which is what I've done on the Kes Website. There are some odd things and contradictions in the books but they don't screw up the actual events and it's easy just to sort them out and peretend they are not there.

My favorites are "The Black Shore" by Greg Cox, "Marooned" by Christie Golden, "Her Klingon Soul" by Michael Jan Friedman and the book version of "Caretaker". Many of the events in the books would have been perfect as episodes, especially "The Black Shore" and "Marooned".

Bonjour les ami(e)s,

(well, I didin't find any mention here or elsewhere on Voyager's forum but if the news was already published, pardon me).

In memory of Richard Herd, who played the role of Owen Paris, Tom's father and Janeway's mentor when she was still a young officer, who has passed away at the age of 87 .:(

My favorite role of his is as Supreme Commander John on V.
