The New Mutants -- news, rumors, opix, etc;

They also used to have intermissions and live orchestras, so things can change.

But what's going to make it change even faster it's people poo-pooing the cinema experience and saying "Oh it's just as good at home."

True, there is no pause button in a theater and one commercial break helps make that bathroom break easier, since the concession stand doesn't sell - eh, nobody would want them to either which way... or since people didn't live as long back then, the ability to hole in pee couldn't have been for as long either...

I have a reason for wanting to see this movie that is unique to myself. I actually never saw Logan in the theaters. It was a hectic time in my life and it just didn't happen. I eventually bought it on disk but decided that since the Fox X-Men Universe was ending, I wanted that to be the last movie in that series that I watched. Then came delay after delay after delay for both Dark Phoenix and New Mutants and I still haven't watched Logan.

I wouldn't be surprised if it gets pushed back again, but I'm happy they're trying their best to give it a cinematic release instead of just punting it to Disney+.

New release date announced: August 28 (tentative)

I'm guessing you've seen Dark Phoenix by now? Because if not, I wouldn't delay watching Logan for that at all. Terrible trade.

And while I can understand the appeal of watching Logan last in theory, I don't see that you really need to wait for New Mutants necessarily, considering it won't star any of the characters from the other movies anyway. And it seems to take place in a single entirely isolated location with no real view of the outside world. For all we know it could actually be set post-Logan.

I've been wondering if it is post-Logan since it was first announced. What we know of it would line up pretty well with where mutants in general seemed to be at the time of Logan.

Fair enough, though I'm still cautiously optimistic that this movie may surprise a lot of people.
Same. I have a pretty good feeling about it despite the delays.

Although...
We can hope, but I'm afraid that even if it's good, it'll have a hard time living up to the expectations people have built up over the years of waiting.
...this is a reasonable concern.

It's not just that I want to end the series on a high note (although that's a huge part of it), ending it with Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart just has a nice feeling of coming full circle with the whole franchise.
