R.I.P. Gene Dynarski "Izzy Mandelbaum Jr."

R.I.P to Gene Dynarski at age 86.

Gene appeared in movies (Duel and CE3K). Gene pissed Stephen Spielberg off at some point leading to his CE3K scenes being cut out of later releases, but they were put back.

Gene appeared in two Star Trek TOS episodes. He was miner Ben Childress in Mudd's Women and Krodak in The Mark Of Gideon.

But to me, he'll always be Izzy Mandelbaum Jr. "Mandelbaum! Mandelbaum! Mandelbaum!"

 

I will always remember him as Stalin in Command & Conquer: Red Alert.

 

Always enjoyed seeing Mr. Dynarski.

He was in two TOS's and two Seinfelds! You think you're better than him?!

 

Childress had the most character depth, Krodak had the least. Quinteros didn't say much either but was a cooler role to do. He played them all like a pro.

 

And two Batmans. At least I think that was one of the two-parters. It might have been a third season episode.

 

I always thought that was Lloyd Bridges.

 

Lloyd was Izzy Mandelbaum Sr.

 

Boy, was I confused.

 

To be fair, I'm not sure they called Gene's character by name in the episode. Izzy Sr. called him "son" and he called Izzy Sr. "dad". Then there was Izzy Sr's dad. "Oh c'mon!"

I'll watch the episode in the next day or two to be sure.
