I don't recall it being divisive on nearly the same level. And if so, it wasn't for the same reasons. The Last Jedi took chances, challenging and deconstructing the tropes of previous movies, which some (myself included) found brilliant and refreshing and others felt was a betrayal. Into Darkness was the opposite -- it followed up a debut that was meant to break new ground by retreating into nostalgia and repetition instead. If anything, STID was more like The Force Awakens in its echoing of past movies, while ST '09 was more like The Last Jedi in its willingness to overturn the comfortable norms of the franchise (though I wouldn't say it did it nearly so well).
